I read once where Gilbert routinely grades out as one of our better lineman. So this isn't surprising but still good to see.

Last 10 games- 0 sacks, 2 penalties. One in the playoff game and one last week.

Might be smart to keep that right side intact and have the left as more of a revolving door. Cheaper that way. Top RT/RG money is less than LT/LG money.

Good to see Gilbert get some recognition, and I don't think it's a fluke. This is the professional football player that he's become.

Regarding the OP, Gilbert's given up more than one sack in the past 10 games. It's more like 3 sacks.

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/10/steelers-film-room-chris-hubbard-vs-ravens/ it's not all roses for gilbert from what i can see from some of this tape. i'm not saying he's not playing a little better but let's not anoint him as all pro yet. there is tape that says otherwise. one of these sacks could easily be on him. some others he blocks nobody.

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/10/steelers-film-room-david-decastro-vs-ravens/ some more to watch if you'd like. foster is bad and unaware at times. we sure ain't there yet with this group.

We got what we got... Some good stuff, some head scratchers... Foster in my opinion is garbage. He's the lone lineman to keep his head on the reverse tilt looking back and forth at Ben before the play. Surprised he hasn't cost us 10 false starts a game. I said the same thing 3 years ago, maybe it's the norm to be a rain bird sprinkler head when the rest of the line good or bad has their nose pointing forward?

He's the least in shape, least athletic, biggest whiner... Atleast whiner in
    practice mode that we got

he's just slow. always late to his block dob. he's a terrible fit for the mobility of our other linemen. we are thin though at that spot so it is what it is. i'm so tired of having to look at our line as oh this guy had a good play and then the next he looks like he's never played before. we could be much better on this front across the board. i just wonder what munch could do with some real solid linemen and how much better they could be then. maybe al and bj can become what we need in the future and we keep adding guys until they get it right. hopefully pouncey being back will help, dd seems solid and in a year or two we will see some of these guys come around. it's not the worst we've seen but it's far from the best. i hope we keep upgrading spots for munch to work with.

I think that may be some kind of communication thing between him and Ben, which Foster then relays to the center of when to snap the ball on silent counts.

Yeah, Foster's just doing his job when you see that. Having the veteran guard serve as spotter is something most teams do when on the road and in shotgun. He's looking for the cue from Ben to snap it. You'll see him tap the center's leg and then face the LOS.

I figured it was a scheme thing helping Ben and the line with adjustments, but it just really stuck out to me. And honestly am surprised it hasn't gotten us flagged with these trigger happy refs

If Villanueva continues to grow we could have another one in him. He has the size to be awesome.

I read today on Steelers Depot that Foster graded out as a Top 5 this week on PFF. I wish all of our linemen would manage to grade out high all at once though. Would that be too much to ask?
