So, instead of inserting Johnny Boy, into the other threads about Josh Gordon, or the guy from the Cardinals, I had a few questions to ask, all about Johnny, so I started a new thread.
Now that a picture has surfaced of him rolling up a dollar(or probably a 20+ dollar) bill, in the bathroom in a strip club,
One of the local dee-jays, mentioned this morning, that they heard the Browns are going to ask Manziel to take a drug test. Possibly one using a hair sample, instead of just the normal urine test.
Now, this was just a regular d.j., not a sports-talk specialist, or anyone with any ties to the N.F.L....
He named no sources for this speculation, but he said it in seriousness, not just as a joke on a "morning show".
    My questions are:
Do the Browns have the authority to make him take a test, at their discretion, as opposed to the mandated random drug tests he is subject to, by the league?
Are they allowed to mandate a "hair test"(which would show a much longer history of drugs in the body),instead of a standard urine test?
Would they be off the hook for his contract, if he did fail a test at this point?
Do you think it would be in their best interests to test him, or should they just "let it be" for now?
Has anyone heard anything about this (other than the picture), on any reputable sites?
Thanx for any info, anyone can provide.
I didn`t find any stories about them threatening him with a test, from a quick google search, before posting this.
I didn`t even try to look into what the current CBA says about this sort of situatuion, but I would like to know, if anyone has any info.
The picture looks very bad, however, it is, entirely possible, he was just rolling up a bill, to see if one of the "dancers" could do neat tricks with it, but I highly doubt that...
In my experience, if one is rolling up a bill in the bathroom of a strip club, there is only one thing they are planning on doing with it...:hmmm:
    Johnny, Johnny, Johnny...BAD JOHNNY!!!:doh::facepalm: :lolol:

I read that he's already submitted to his preseason test and not required by the policy to submit to another test. He may agree to a test, but he's not compelled to unless he already had an agreement with the club to periodic testing, which is covered in the policy as well.

For reference from the official policy for preseason testing:

Pre-Season: All players under contract with an NFL club will betested once during the period beginning April 20 and continuing
through August 9. Testing in the pre-season may be done on a
team-wide basis or by position groups at the discretion of the
Medical Advisor but not on an individual-by-individual basis.
However, a player who is excused by the Medical Advisor from
the scheduled team-wide or position’s group Test may be tested
individually but only if such Test takes place before the first
regular season game absent a showing of extenuating
circumstances. A player who is signed or otherwise acquired after
the date of the pre-season Test that would have applied to him may
be given the pre-season Test individually if such player has not
already been given the preseason Test even though the Test will
    take place after August 9.

And for the testing by agreement:

Testing by Agreement: An NFL club and a player may agree that
such player will submit to unannounced Testing during the term of
said player’s NFL Player Contract provided that the club has a
reasonable basis for requesting such agreement. A Positive Test (as
hereinafter defined) as a result of such Testing shall be reported to
the Medical Director and shall result in the player’s entering Stage
One of the Intervention Program. Once a player enters an
Intervention Stage the number of Tests that a player will be
required to take will be determined by the Medical Director or the
Medical Advisor, as set forth herein – not by the terms of the
    player’s NFL Player Contract.

I would add to Lizard's response Bleed by saying I am sure that the Browns as well as any NFL team would include language in a contract that protects them in the event of special circumstances. If they didn't well then I have some lovely beach front property in Baja Mexico to sell them, Really cheap and ready to be developed.

Not saying there is any "direct evidence" of wrongdoing, in the pic.(Wish I had a link, he IS rolling up a bill in a bathroom)...
A cheap defense attourney, could throw plenty of "reasonable doubt", on the pic. ...
But, given some other player`s punishments, on less evidence..
Is this not, at least, "conduct detrimental to the image", of the NFL?
Or the team that drafted him?
Doesn`t constitute "reasonable suspicion", or"extenuating circumstances", to conduct another drug test?
