When you look up the word professional in the dictionary, this guy's picture is next to it! Ben said Heath was the best teammate he's ever had and I have no doubt that's true. I just wonder what Heath would do if he were still playing and JuJu tried to get him to participate in some of these choreographed endzone celebrations, lol?

He sure was a class guy both on and off the field, at a time when there are not many like him.

I think in Ben's case, McDonald is the closest thing we have found. Ben and he seemed to get on the same page early with each other. I just hope the kid CAN stay on the field like Heath did. Ben loved that security blanket that was Heath Miller.

Miller is one of the greatest Steelers of all time. If we had more like him on this team we would have more championships.

Yep, when Heath retired I felt like I just divorced my wife. I openly admit I had a man-crush on him.

McDonald has the tools to be better than Miller, like you said...IF he can stay on the field

One of the best quotes from the article, when asked about his favorite part of his playing days Training Camp, it starts and finishes with camp. Did you hear that Bell? The comarderie that comes from camp and building those relationships .

My fear is Heath will be the last TE we have who can actually block....

Uh, actually he said that's the part he doesn't miss, lol. But...he was there and he was working hard the entire camp!

Apparently, you missed McDonald's work last season. The guy has trouble staying healthy and he isn't as consistent catching the ball, but he can block.

I don't think McDonald has better tools than Miller. I think some people forget just how athletic Miller was early in his career. One of Miller's strengths when they drafted him was his ability to make big plays down the field. By the end, though he could still play, he had lost a step or two.

McDonald is capable of being the total package at tight end, like Miller. He can run the full route tree. He can make the tough catch and run with the ball. He is a strong blocker. What I'm not sure about yet is that ability to find openings in the defense when Roethlisberger is buying time in the pocket. Miller did that very well.

Of course, McDonald needs to avoid the drops that plagued him during his time with the 49ers and his first few games with the Steelers and he needs to stay healthy. Neither of those is a sure thing. That is where he comes up short of Miller, at least for now.
