I love the Markus Wheaton pick! This guy fights for the ball, runs good routes, catches the ball at its highest point and seems to have a great attitude. AND he's fast! Kudos to the FO for upgrading at WR over the guy that left us for warmer environs. Did anyone notice that Wheaton did 20 reps on the bench at the Combine? Most of the top WRs did between 11 and 14. Wallace did 14. This dude is STRONG and it translates onto the football field where he FIGHTS the DB for the ball.

    UPGRADE!!!

I still hope they go after miles if he is there with one of their 6th. Dude lays the wood with his shoulder every time. I'm liking this draft a lot so far and I think everyone of our picks so far will have an impact next year.

Said in the draft thread... Wheaton is quick. He is quicker than Wallace, not faster, quicker. Quicker equates to more versatility. Good, good pick!

Wheaton's breaks in and out of his routes are electric. No doubt in my mind that he is going to be a productive WR for us.

I am still an Emmanuel Sanders fan, and hope we can get him here long term, but damn, it would have been nice to have that extra pick last night (Barrett Jones).

We probably wouldn't have used it on a guy Mike Mayock called a "priority undrafted free agent". :lolol::roflmao:

Wheaton looks good. But, I'm thinking we are going to take another WR in this draft, but they are going to go after a bigger body type.

I really like this pick. The Steelers needed someone who is willing to go after the ball, especially after the embarrassment that Wallace became. I'm hopeful that Wheaton is going to be that guy.

Just after the pick one of the commentators said something to the effect of on comparisons to Wallace he is stronger, uses his hands better, and runs better routes.

i like both our wr picks and both udfa wr's we picked up. j.d. woods from west virginia is good, just not as spectacular as austin and bailey , they got all the hype.

definately some good reserve guys til next year if we can hide them away incase we lose sanders. we know plax and cotchery may not be back. cotch possibly.

am I the only one that sees a lot of Antonio Brown in this kid? He's more nifty and quick than a burner

If Wheaton shows enough this season maybe they let Sanders leave after this season.

i hope they sign sanders back next year. brown, sanders, brown, wheaton, woods look like a nice bunch of receivers for next year. it's the offenses turn to pick first next year too. speed, good hands and better blocking for the run game. i like our chances this year and next at WR.
