What do you think is the biggest reason why we lost today?

I'm going with Big Ben's play. I love the guy, but he just had an off day today. Sure he feels really bad about it.

Agreed. Bens performance killed us today. Was the weather a factor? I couldn't see Anything but redzone, but know it's raining a lot here.

Poor leadership ... on the sideline and on the field.

I'll throw out the defensive play as a 2nd reason..... 20 points to bad backups is not acceptable..... But not insurmountable with our offense.

IDK ,,yes Ben was off today ,but i think the D gave up too many 3rd downs ,and how many were 6+ yards to go

Ditto poor leadership. I did not see a team with an identity out on that field!

Agree with the defense as second reason. No pass rush today and we couldn't get off the field on third down.

I think the teams preparation to this game was a huge issue. But again, we do not have an elite coaching staff when it comes to x's and o's it seems. On the other hand I was encouraged by Butler overall this season (despite the secondary problems).

Edit: add Munchak on the encouraged list, I'd like to see him promoted eventually.

You have to go with Ben. Even without the interceptions he was off. He missed a wide open Miller in the middle of the field. Early in the game he threw behind Wheaton on a pass that should have been intercepted...

I said last week that perhaps one of the problems with this team is that they always think they can come back in the second half.

But here's my list, without too much thought put into it:

    - Nothing against going for it on 4th down on the first drive. But you pass the ball then, not run it.

    - Ben was off target most of the day.

    - Dumb screen called on 2nd and long on the last drive.

    - Mike Mitchell was playing like he did last season. Could have had an INT, was often out of position/late to the tackle.

    - Playcalling was akin to the New England game.

    - Gah. Just awful. Really annoying loss.

Is it too much to ask for the D to get a pick vs a guy who was bagging groceries last week? Or maybe some pressure? Or to keep him from converting 9 of 18 3rd downs?

This wasn't tom Brady out there, or Johnny Unitas or even Joe Flacco.

The big play offense wasn't there today, fine that happens. But the D didn't help...... At all

    Tomlin- out coached yet again
Ben- bad game...trying to force the ball to brown
Butler- got beat by a wounded offense
    Haley- poor play calling

The pass rush was weak today. In the rare case we got some pressure Mullet made some bad throws.

I feel like this is partly my fault. I wore a new Steelers shirt I got for Christmas instead of my usual away game shirt. Obviously I'll own this mistake.

We wasnt prepared to play.. IMO we looked flat the whole game, all but the first drive there wasn't no since of urgency to game. .. Yea Ben had a bad game, but so did 99
percent of the team.. for me personaly the game had a diff feel to it from the strt.. i didnt see no emotion from anyone..

Feeling real bad about it is no consolation. I would hope he does. Unless he gets help, he will now miss the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 years. Does he feel bad enough to perhaps restructure his contract so the Steelers can spend some money in free agency?

Probably a question better suited for Ben.
