If any of you guys have Netflix and want to watch a really cool show with great characters and stories and BEAUTIFUL women(or men according to my wife)! It has the first 4 seasons and the new epsiodes are currently airing on AMC. But it's not one of those shows where you can just jump in. You really NEED to start at the front. Just thought you guys may be interested in this. Just be warned it is a REALLY addictive show if you like it.

My wife and I used to watch Mad Men religously, but had a hard time getting back into it during season 4. I'd like to catch up and start watching it again. Is this season good?

Oh man it's awesome! Going on the 6th ep this weekend. This past week had a classic fist fight that you will never forget when you watch it. Also, in the 2nd ep Meagan had a birthday party for Don and one of the guys at the office starts talking about what he would do to her. All the while not knowing that she was standing behind him. Man I laughed til I cried about that and sometimes even at work I will think about that and start laughing again. Definitely it's still a MUST watch show. The Killing was another show I liked but the season 1 finale angered me so bad that all I have left is Mad Men and Swamp People.

The overwhelming theme of Mad Men is "smoke a lot of cigarettes and drink a lot of liquor". Those 2 industries must be financing that show very heavily. A close second, themewise, is "have babies out of wedlock and cheat on your spouse". Last season was much better than this, so far, seems to be just meandering.

I've loved this season for the most part. I thought the thing where Meagan did that little dance was really weird and made me feel like she didn't really know her husband at all. The fat Betty thing was just gross. I would love to see Don just lay the smack down on Henry but you know that's not gonna happen. I've always hated that guy and what's really weird is that I was actually mad at Betty for cheating on Don but isn't that the most hypocritical thing you've ever heard?

I love this show and I think this season is off the hook. Every time you start to like a character or develop some sympathy for them they do something so wrong you revert back to your distain. Except for Peggy Joan and Don's daughter. All the other characters are jerks.

Same can be said for The Soprano's. That aspect of the shows is no coincidence.
