Shock also, but I have seen him concussed
and it wasn't pretty. probably figured he has had enough. Large blow to Carolina fans.

    Another shocker.

I think this will be the norm going forward.

Get in. Make your millions. Get out while still healthy.

Winning just ain't what it use to be.

Absolutely. But I think 40 years ago players would have played hard even if they knew what research has shown today.

Winning was everything for that era.

Now living comfortably and healthy is more important to the modern athlete. I'm not saying they're wrong either.

But as a fan, winning is almost everything. Knowing millionaires are living comfortably isn't the highest on my priority list.

I think if the players of 40 years ago knew what they know now with concussions, steroids, etc. & they were paid comparable (adjusted for inflation) to today, we would see the same thing happening.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. set a precedent by retiring early because of concussions. For some athletes, the risk isn't worth it.

Threw me for a loop for sure. Been a winner all his life from High School to the NFL in every sense of the word. I think he may come back in a couple seasons after missing the game. Not sure if he's done yet.
