i like it. hubbard is the 3rd option if need be. harris can backup the right side too so al can concentrate on the left. harris can also play that extra TE role that we used a lot with hubbard last year. i believe this is the end to adams.

He started out horribly last season. By the last game, announcers were singling him out for playing well. Every reason to keep straight lining that up.

Walter Football is a hack site IMO... So, I'm not particularly surprised or concerned over their assessment.

I'm not so sure about that. Adams is still working on a rookie contract. Cheap back up if they feel he has something to offer.

True. That might be why he's still around but he's a major disappointment.

Right? What the hell? I thought AV did a pretty damn good job protecting Ben last season

So depending on who you read, Harris was either a stabilising force for the Broncos, or a turnstile.

I didn't watch a huge number of their games, so... which is it?

Somewhere in between. If he was truly a stabilizing force at LT, he would have gotten a ton more than a < $2 million/yr deal. However, he wasn't awful. He will be a much better backup for Gilbert on the right side than for AV on the left, but he can handle the left pretty well for a backup swing tackle. The only way to get a better tackle for that kind of $$$ is to draft one, and they don't always work out the way you'd expect. With Harris, we know what we've got to backup AV and Gilbert, and that's a good place to be in entering the season.

Does anyone know offhand if Harris has quality NFL experience at guard? If so, this signing is even better.

Another excellent move. Other than Bal signing Weddle and Wallace [i'd rather they went elsewhere] just about everything is going as if TS[theSteelers] are scripting things.

Now I guess the TS focus goes on the DDD.

Bottom line is: Is a 2016 AV / Harris an upgrade from a 2015 AV / Beechum?

I read that they gave AV a lot of help in pass protection, with the TE and FB helping on his side.

I like AV and think (hope) he will continue to improve. I personally think he struggled a bit the last few games.
