Parker? Interesting. I guess we only have 3 WR's. But why spend time with a 1st rounder? I think everyone knows we'll go defense so why even bother with a smokescreen?

I guess nobody is off the table at this point. maybe it depends who's off the board on defense when 22 hits.

Maybe the smokescreen is to hide their interest in Mauldin. But the dinner was on a different day so who knows. I'm sure he asked Parker about his teammates though, just to get some inside track info.

That's what popped into my head as well. If you can't stop em, make sure you score 40 points ;)

it wouldn't be a bad option either. we could still get a good pass rusher or corner in the second or third without a lot of drop off. I don't think corner has to be the first pick this year because of the talent level. there are corners in the 2nd and 3rd that are every bit as good as the first round rated guys. as for pass rushers after the top 2-4, I think it's the same way, very similar in what you will get. there is a lot of offensive firepower in this draft and I wouldn't limit ourselves just to say we got defense early when we could get the same value at a different spot.

Maybe Parker will be BPA at #22.

I would agree that the Steelers would be heavily interested in Mauldin. A position of a need and a great character guy.
