WR coach Ike Hilliard was just hired to the same position with the the falcons...
My vote for his replacement...... Hines Ward

Need a upgrade at QB coach, hopefully that person has the talent to be pass game coordinator also

Would be great to marry this type of coach w Arthur's run game IMO

they had a passing game in tenn. but his qb stunk running it. when he was on it worked but he was like mitch, always threw a pick so they stayed away from it using the run game more. i think smith could have a good balance here. well hopefully anyway.

I doubt ARE would make a lateral move to come in as WR coach but that would be ideal

I would love Hines Ward. Im not sure him and Tomlin are real close though. Guaranteed Dj and GP would be asking to be traded by seasons end.

The one thing mentioned in an article(s) about his was using 2 TE formations and pretty good red zone results.. Has not been many (or any perhaps) mentions here, but that is one thing that was spoken of a lot when we drafted Washington.

He'd be great. He's so off in the head he'd be like our 3rd wide receiver. QB throws to sidelines and if it's out of bounds He'd catch go in for the score and do that dumb ass dance.

Curious why you think DJ and GP would want out???? I would think Ward would be a receivers best friend. Then again he may make them be a tad bit more mature.

Hines Ward is old school. He is hard nosed and team first. I don’t think DJ or GP have displayed that they are of that mindset. They appear to be more self centered and worried about the stats. So basically you answered your won question with regards to your maturity statement. The thing is Hines style would fit perfectly with Arthur Smith. The receivers are going to have fewer chances but probably chances for bigger plays and more YAC under the new system. They are going to have to love blocking in the new system. I definetly see DJ having a hard time fitting in the new system. Smith needs a Deebo Samuels,Hines Ward, Juju Smith Shuster type who can catch short balls and be a rb after the catch. Neither GP or DJ are really that type of receiver. The offense can have one receiver not like that but it really needs the other one to be thick and a Mac and blocking machine. I hope we bring in someone like that or draft the kid from Western Kentucky who is like 5’11” 210 lbs. The funny thing is all the WR’s we had a couple years ago were exactly that big, thick tackle breakers.

AB would be great if you think he would stick around to coach and not run away or cry and pout.

Having a physcial WR, like Debo Samuels is great, but you also need a Brandon Aiyuk type of WR. Someone that can make contested catches, make people miss, and get downfield.. kinda like GP?

DJ is heading into the final year of his deal, so I could see him being moved. 16mill cap hit vs 6mill dead cap.

You know what when he was on they always said he was a worker and he played fully engaged on the field. Weren't there reports of him being the last out there on the jugs machine and running routes?

Tomlin would point out AB to rookies showing them how to work out

    Effort was never his problem

His problem was the gray cells that were out to lunch

I agree so we have the Aiyuk guy in GP. Not sure what you are saying regarding DJ. Are you saying to trade him this year? Would have been nice to have drafted Puca Nacua last year, he would have fit perfectly in this system. I feel like we have so many needs it just isn’t possible to fill them all in both the draft and FA.

If we can cut some of the older high priced contracts that are under performing like - Robinson, Trubiscky, Peterson etc. and go get a legit CB and perhaps one other position in FA then we can focus on filling our other needs in the draft.

twist in Las Vegas: Kliff Kingsbury has withdrawn himself from consideration for the offensive coordinator job of the Raiders, per his agent @ErikBurkhardt.

Maybe Kingsbury takes the Washington OC job instead.

And with that passion hopefully some selflessness. Wr's as we know are divas but it's worse than it's ever been for the steelers imo.
