The Falter trade may have the most immediate effect. That is because it opens a spot in the rotation, meaning we may at last see Bubba Chandler in a Pirate uniform.
I am surprised that Pham, Icky Falafel, and Heaney are still here. Used to be that a team could waive a player after the deadline, and pull him back if someone claimed him, then make a deal. That went away a few years ago. Looks like the guys on expiring contracts will be around until the season ends.

 

Certainly doesn't appear like a dumpster sale, maybe some off-season trade stuff? Reynolds, Keller..........

 

I think that is what will happen. I wonder who would take Reynolds’ contract, but then I wondered if they could move Hayes too.
They sure acquired a bunch of first basemen. It is almost like they are saying “If any of you thinks you can hit, this would be a good time to show it.”
They may yet get that medium power outfield guy for Keller, at the winter meetings.
