Good luck to you in your fantasy land. Things to note. While she got his email address the phone company didn’t give him access to his email account. You’re not brute forcing an email account in 30 seconds or guessing for that matter. Two stage authentication? For your lost/ stolen cell phone scenario where does this person get his number from to spoof? His girlfriend’s name? Which service provider he uses? Your showing a staged video of exact perfect situations and trying to compare it to someone losing or having their stolen. Again nice try.

Now you're just arguing for the sake of arguing (actually, it seems you have been the whole time). There are hacker conventions where people go to specifically learn this stuff. The video wasn't staged. You're the one in fantasy land. I deal with stuff like this related to my job, but I guess all of this time, I've been delusional. And the friend I have who had this very thing happen...I'll let him know it was all just his imagination because you said so.

You are arguing from a standpoint of emotion and without facts, so there's no point in continuing discussing this with you.

Obviously you missed what I meant by staged. It is staged in that he gives information to "jess" that wouldn't be available to a person that just found a phone on the street. Got it?

Here is a reasonably upnto date list of US iphone carriers. Obviously, if you were trying to hack someone's iPhone account you would probably start with the big 4, but as you can plainly see below there are far far more than just four. How many us android carriers are there?

Actually, no, that wasn't really clear in your previous post, but thanks for explaining.

So you lose your phone on the street. You don't need to try their lock code (which the vast majority of users don't even bother to set up) to get the number. You just wait until someone calls the phone, answer it (since that doesn't require the code), and tell the caller that they have a wrong number, but that you've been getting a lot of calls, and ask them what number they called to see if it's close to yours. Someone will give it to you, and probably sooner than later. Bingo, you have their phone number without brute forcing or wiping the phone. The fact that she had the girlfriend's name was only one thing she could have used as well, it's not the only thing. However, social engineering hackers make it their business to get info about their targets in many ways, and it's easier than most people think.

My stepson is/was a hacker. He does it for a living now. He showed us years ago how easy it is, for someone who knows how, to hack a cell phone. He used to do it just for grins!
