"Don't get me wrong, I hate the two runs in a row (with no full back) and pass attempt on 3rd and 9 as much as anyone. That's part of the reason why I felt the Steelers needed to fire, or "retire", Arians after last year. As I pointed out in my first comment, the problems faced by the offense the past few years reared its ugly head the past few games. Those problems aren't because of the dink-and-dunk offense, they are largely because we got away from it."

    Agreed.

I will be the first to complain about how we ran the ball this year. Slow-developing running plays without a fullback added to an ailing or patchwork line equals crappy results. Haley needs to fix that badly.
I will not complain about his overall offense. We were rocking at mid-season before the Kansas City game. That's where the wheels fell off.
Ben was definitely NOT the same QB after that. We seemed to go back to sandlot football and the results were ugly.

Fixing the O-line problems will help trememdously. The only real "strategic" fix that I see involves our running game (as I mentioned above).
You can cry all you want about deep passes, but defenses specifically schemed to limit their success about half-way through the season last year so we had to take what was given to us.
Wallace's numbers didn't drop just this year. He disappeared half way through last year when defenses schemed to take the long ball away. That didn't change this year.
What DID change in our deep passing game was that Wallace dropped several more passes and Ben threw more lousy passes.
Wallace has 8 TDs this year. He had 8 last year and 10 the year before. After the "surprise" was over, defenses started double-teaming him and scheming to take him out of the game.
Ben was out for nearly 4 games this year and was definitely not himself after that.
Our O-line has been juggled around and inconsistent all year. We had a "hot stretch" just before mid-season when Colon got comfortable at guard and we had mostly the same line for a month or so.

None of those issues has anything to do with Haley's scheme. Dink and Dunk actually helped to hide the deficiencies until the line situation worsened and Ben got hurt and then struggled.

All things considered, I think we would have been far worse off this year with Arian's offense. Give Haley a break and let him continue to learn about our players and adapt the offense to get the most out of them.
The defense killed us early in the season and the offense killed us late in the season. Let's focus on improving from where we were during that fairly solid stretch at mid-season.

Okay, my thoughts on Haley's type of offense is it could work. I'am more dissapointed in the situation play calling like the 3 and 1 at the goal line in a tight game and going into shotgun formation and nor fullback? And stuff like keeping Leftwich in the Ravens game and he couldn't throw, and the run, run continuous in 1 & 2 down without throwing a play action pass.

it's not the style or scheme of the offense, it's the situation play calling that's bothering me.
