Let's forget depth for a moment, all teams have similar issues there and backups are someone fungible, but going through the roster, where do the Steelers have their starter for the near-term future, 2-3 years at least? Gut feeling, do they have their guy or not?

    I'll start.

    QB - No
    RB - Yes
FB - Who cares, don't use
    LT - No
    LG - Yes
    C - No
    RG - No
    RT - No
    TE - Yes
WR (3) - Yes, Yes, No. (DJ, CC, rest gone)

DE - Yes (assume Cam plays at least two more years)
    NT - No
DE - Yes (they'll try to develop Loudermilk)
    EDGE - Yes
    EDGE - Yes
    ILB - No
    ILB - No
    FS - Yes
    SS - No
    CB1 - No
    CB2 - No
    CB3 - No

    PK - Yes
P - Yes - they didn't draft him to cut him

13 no's that can't be filled in one offseason, probably not two.

Not near as dire as you want it to be.

Bush..... Gone! He's playing SO be bad, He shouldn't even be starting...He got run over on both TD's...

So now...He basically can't cover, tackle, or read plays....Great combo to have, for a guy we moved up to get!

Which of my no's do you think are long term starters? I admittedly may be too hard on the OL...others I think they have guys but they'll be leaving - Edmunds and Juju are likely not going to be resigned. Alualu is 35 next year coming off an injury. Thinking he retires.

    QB - No Agree
    RB - Yes Agree
FB - Who cares, don't use Agree
LT - No YES. I see no reason to believe that Dan Moore can't progress into a long term starter. He is a rookie. Give it time
    LG - Yes AGREE
C - No AGREE, but I think Green is going to make one helluva guard.
RG - No YES, see above.
RT - No Agree but Chuks is not a bad stopgap
    TE - Yes Agree
WR (3) - Yes, Yes, No. (DJ, CC, rest gone) YES, NO, NO. Even Chase is a no for me. Very inconsistent.

DE - Yes (assume Cam plays at least two more years) Agree
NT - No YES. Alualu will be back next year
DE - Yes (they'll try to develop Loudermilk) Agree
    EDGE - Yes Agree
    EDGE - Yes Agree
ILB - No Yes. Bush is playing terrible right now. I still believe he will turn it around. Think of Boswell's brain cramp year.
ILB - No Yes. I think Schobert is playing well. What we need is depth here.
FS - Yes Yes. Although Minkah needs to start living up to the hype. He is almost in Devin Bush territory.
    SS - No Agree
    CB1 - No Yes
    CB2 - No Yes
CB3 - No Yes. Haden goes for at least two more years. Sutton and Pierre have been solid. Why the nos here?

    PK - Yes Agree
P - Yes - they didn't draft him to cut him Agree

So I came up with 6. Not nearly as bleak as you made it out IMO. The Steelers need to keep building and add depth all over. The Steelers have lots of cap room next year. Like any team, their success is going to depend on how good the guy under center is.

Your corner selections is where you were harsh. I'm curious why you think we have no future there? Pierre has been a pleasant surprise. Sutton is solid. Both guys are young. Haden is still playing at a high level. Norwood has also been a pleasant surprise.

Bozwell was hurt all that year and as far as Claypool...They talk about the elite RB' s like Henry, who never seems like he takes a big hit...Well.Claypool is the opposite of that...

He doesn't know how to get "small" always taking a big hit, always landing awkwardly...I think it's just balance , agility, gracefulness....Some people have it, some don't...

Bettis was a huge man with ballerina feet....Claypool is like Cosmo Kramer...Like a big, dorky, Lumox....

Looks like Tarzan, Plays like Jane

Haden wanted an extension and they declined, I think he's gone. Will be 33 next year.

Pierre and Sutton are meh for me. I think we're going to discover that with the schedule of QBs/WRs on the upcoming schedule. Sutton isn't really that young, he's in his fifth season. I think if they really liked him they would have signed him for longer - currently he's only signed thru 2022.

Forgot about Norwood, but his sample size is small. Maybe he's a long term slot option.

Your not gonna replace everybody in one draft.

I do expect the Steelers to be much more involved in Free Agency next year compared to other years...

Man, not sure what you guys are seeing from our CBs, but they're not good. Or are you thinking the Steelers think they're good enough so they won't be replaced?

Also, I think Tuitt is done. It can't be an injury at this point.

I think Pierre has shown enough that by next season, he may be our best cb... Also Sutton has been good for the most part, but depth after them is a real concern......
Don't count out Tuitt yet..... The death of a loved one stays with you, regardless of what the books and so called experts say... I think he will be back next yr and motivated..... Remember that he was coming off a breakout season when this tragedy hit....
I'm more than willing to give him a redshirt season

    I agree on Tuitt.

I think the corners have been fine. Pierre has been significantly better than I anticipated. Haden and Sutton are solid. I think better safety play is what is needed. We all know what Edmunds is. But even Minkah has been bad this season.

It's not a actually Minkah that's been bad as much as it's been Keith Butler and the way they're using him...... Butler wants him to be the 2nd coming of Troy Polamalu, which he isn't..... Now if they leave him single high, he could very well be the 2nd coming of Ed Reed though

Why not? Actually, I think it is the combination of an injury and his personal situation. It is interesting, but not surprising, that given a lack of information you would assume the worst.

    Keep
i was feeling that way a few games ago, but everyone on defense needs to be able to take proper angles and make tackles. Even deep safeties. He’s been increasingly contact-shy, and it’s hurting us.
