I'm watching it. The gnats look like hot garbage. Calvin Johnson is a dang phenomenal beast as usual.

I just don't think Eli is that good of a QB. Yeah, he made some clutch throws to win 2 SB's and that counts for something, but in terms of consistency, I think he's about average, maybe a bit better than average. Definitely not in the top tier or even top 2 tiers of QB's

I think Eli is going to turn into a head case soon if he continues down this turnover road.. Might even see Nassib start this season if it turns really ugly.

Yeah, there was a big "What the F***?" from Eli mouthed on TV after one of the picks he threw. I thought he looked pretty scared during the next series.

Eli is a joke. He's DEFINITELY not elite! He's a guy that can do "just enough".

Doubt it. Coughlin doesn't seem like the kind of guy to bench his SB winning veteran QB and put in a guy that's never started a game in the NFL. Coughlin is very old school

Yeah I wouldn't see Coughlin benching him either. He's more of a "chew his butt out" kind of guy. Coughlin always has this look on his face like "whaaaa???"

    Yup :lolol:

I'm glad Caldwell took over as coach, Detroit is probably my second favorite team and they were getting hard to root for under Schwartz.

They are going to be a force in the NFC this year.

Stafford has just been playing lights out all night. He's been a lot of fun to watch.

Not to mention he's helping me tear it up with my fantasy team this week.

It's hard for me to ever imagine them being truly competitive. I've always sorta liked them too even going back to the Herman Moore and Scott Mitchell days. But they always strike me as the team that has tons of promise that never pans out in the end. It is sad that Barry Sanders had to play for such a fruitless franchise and now Calvin Johnson might be following that same path. A potentially all time great player that just never was on a team that could compete. I think Stafford is a really inconsistent player.

I don't think Stafford is inconsistent, I think they haven't had a defence in a very long time. Stafford will win games for the team as long as the defence doesn't give up 30

Yeah, that's kind of my take on Detroit. I've been pretty impressed with Stafford for awhile, and he's just reinforcing that tonight.

He has been really up and down throughout his career. Not too long ago I heard something on Colin Cowherd(whom I can't stand btw) where an insider was talking about how a lot of coaches felt that he was a diva that didn't have a good work ethic.

They are loaded, I think the problem is that Schwartz sucked ass as a coach, I actually think Caldwell is pretty good and is the type of coach that team needs.

Stafford is really good, I don't really recall him being inconsistent.

Loved watching Barry Sanders run, thing of beauty.

Schwartz's finest moment will forever be his little spat with Harbaugh! LOL!

I'm just going to look at last year because quite frankly I don't care enough to go back further and I think you'd see similar numbers from Stafford the last 3 years (he was injured 4 years ago). Last year Stafford threw for 1 or fewer TD's 7 times. Ben threw for 1 or fewer 9 times. Stafford threw for 200 or fewer yards once. Ben threw for 200 or less 5 times. Stafford had 2 or more INT's in a single game 5 times. Ben did it 4 times.

Now please don't think I'm saying Stafford is better than Ben, I'm not. Just posting numbers showing what I believe is a relatively consistent QB. For the record, Ben is more accurate and was quite a bit more accurate last year

Actually if you click on that link it tells you how his actual seasons went from a game to game basis. It does it over his career. He has been inconsistent consistently. Actually a lot of his yards are garbage yards. I'm not saying he's "bad". I'm just saying he's a lot like Cutler. He can make all the throws but it just depends on which Stafford shows up.

I don't need to click on it, I know what's there, and it's someone else analyzing his play. I choose to luck at numbers. He throws a lot so he's going to get a lot of yards, but he's been relatively consistent in putting up yards, TD's and INT's on a game to game basis.

Not game logs it doesn't, which is really the only way to judge consistency. Besides, it also has a quick analysis of some of his games, which I don't care to read. I don't go to wiki for my football analysis.

I wasn't looking at it for analysis. Just for his actual stats. 109-73 TD to INT ration isn't very good actually. I think Stafford has a better rep than what his play would indicate because he has been a good "fantasy" qb.

See, you used the word consistent, which is what I went on. Based on his numbers, I think he's been fairly consistent. I didn't realize you were talking about whether he's good or not. I won't even get into that. I think he's easily a top 10 QB who could lead his team to the SB in the right circumstances, but if you don't, that's fine, we'll agree to disagree.

I just feel like he's one of those guys that can just as easily do "enough" as he can "too much". If you look over his seasonal numbers you will see that, for example, in 2011 he had 41tds and 16ints. Then in 2012 he had 20tds and 17ints. That's a pretty big discrepancy. Then he was 29tds and 19tds last year. So he's just sorta up and down but his interceptions have actually increased from year to year. I still don't consider him "bad" though. Probably would disagree about the top 10 though. At least without thinking on it a little. I would automatically say Ben, Brady, Brees, peyton, Rodgers, Wilson, Luck, Ryan, and Rivers. So yeah I could maybe toss him in there. He hasn't done anything in the post season though. Although, in all fairness, he plays for the Lions.
