Seems like a strange turn of events that Colbert would want to run another rebuild when all we keep hearing is he wants to retire.
Things just keep getting better and better... The No.1 asset the Steelers have imo, Might be leaving...Just great!
Maybe this is why Kahn hasn't left? Maybe they knew Colbert was on the way out?
It is actually common in America... When a guy who is a known asset starts talking retirement some company will always break the bank if they believe he or she can help them.. Then KC looks at his bank account and decides do I have enough Loot to last me ?If yes he stay here and retire soon if no hello Detroit...
Interesting. This would be a big loss for the Steelers. Maybe the steelers can convince them to take a package deal and throw Tomlin in there as well.
I agree that he's been a great asset in building these teams for the last decade...plus. But at the same time, a change in GM, especially from the outside, might be what this franchise needs to interject fresh ideas on what we need to do in this rebuild.
They do need a coach... Send Tomlin there as a trade, get Stafford and a 2nd round pick in return. It helps both teams out.
Will it happen? No shot.
If Colbert were to leave, would not shock me from a hire within the organization.
Kahn could be considered but don't be shocked if its Brandon Hunt.
Brandon Hunt is widely respected inside the Steelers organization.
It would be a total shock for me for Kevin Colbert to leave just can't see a guy so close to retirement want to go to the Lions.
Although he once worked for the Lions organization prior to coming to the Steelers.
This would be a huge loss. Maybe he us getting tired of the **** show too.
Idk...Tomlin can't win when we draft good rosters lol
Yes, but a new may be more liable to show Tomlin and Ben the door the second he walks in.
This is just silly. No team is giving up a starting quarterback for a coach. They certainly aren't throwing in a second-round pick.
I would be highly surprised if Colbert would leave the Steelers, he is not a young man and
I doubt if he needs the money. I have been wrong before though.
Thus, the "no shot" qualifier.
Also there's the aspect of living in Detroit.
Khan hasn't left because nobody has ever offered him a job outside the Steelers. There's a big difference.
He said it helps both teams. It does not.
As I said, not likely. But, Stafford wants out and I've read speculation that he could be out with a new coach anyway. If you were Detroit, what would a Coach that has never had a losing season and is well respected around the NFL be worth to you?
Throwing in the second-rounder was what really got me laughing.
I'd be shocked if he left the Steelers but the Lions offer could be incredible.
Fair enough. And, I looked at the picks that Detroit has, they're hurting for picks this year anyway.
If you were the Steelers, would you do that trade though without a draft pick?
There is no trading Kevin Colbert for a draft pick his contract runs year to year with the Steelers.
