line and qb play

The quality of line play ( Offence and def.) are strongly related to the q.b.s playing. Some or my fellow geezers remember how great our D was and the off-line played when Terry was our qb.but have you ever thought how tough and competitive Terry was , knocked down knocked out and still comes back and rallies for a win Can you imagine Lambert ,Mean Joe ,lc and crew. Getting fired up cause no qb is going to be tougher than anyone on our D , or the off. line either. younger fans should remember when Ben was Ben taking hits standing tall and making plays and the line o and d rising to the example of toughness he set . Till Ben was no longer Big Ben but just another qb. and the line play reflected it. The qb is the team leader and sets the example and for to many years now the examples have been over the hill ,happy feet and lack of preparation .Sadly tomlin sees no connection cause he wants to be the players friend and it seems like at any cost. If you think this is just an old guy blowing gas remember part of Terrys hall of fame speach"wish I could put my hands under Mikes but once again .he and Webster where part of a real team effort as was the whole offensive line and the d-line . Gritty qbs raise the play on the whole team . best example or contrast was Marino , great passer but how many s,b s did he win ? Had good teams but did not inspire greatness or toughness in any of them and imho tomlin would want him over Bradshaw cause mikey does not have a drop of Steeler DNA in him . that is why he should be fired , and no not because Iam a fair weather fan. Was a fan before Noll when we had trouble winning But we played tough, had heart and no-one wanted to play us cause we were steel tough and not the nice kid on the block and we were respected.
