Which young players do you think will have that lightbulb moment next season where they seem to get the O or D? Typically rookies that see playing time early are using their athleticism and the knowledge part that comes later is what takes them to that next level.

I'm holding out hope for Doran Grant.

I'd also like to say Coates, but it will be tough for the lightbulb moment to show with the competition ahead of him.

I'm hoping that Dupree and Golson get that lightbulb moment you're taking about. It would go a long way towards us becoming a top end defense again.

I'm gonna go Coates tho. He sat behind some talented players last year and he was really raw. He could figure it out at one point this year and have some big games

My biggest hope is for Blake if he comes back. There's a 100% chance of him starting if he returns.

I'll vote Golson. I believe Dupree's lightbulb has already come on.

Big Ben. Oh come on, you know someone will say it, only they wont be joking :lolol:

I dont know if its asking too much of Golson. Yes, hes had a year to absorb film and what not but can he apply what hes learned that quickly with no playing time yet? Hope so.

I'll throw my hat in for Bud. I like what I saw from him this year but I think he'll explode next season as the game slows down for him.

To me Dupree's test will be his coverage knowledge. Golson should be good to go as long as he's been shown all of Blake's tape to study and told to do the exact opposite of it.

Honestly I'm not sure I'm confident on lightbulb moments for anyone...

Dupree is still getting by on athleticism. I pray Golson is the real deal and can just step in.

I think Tuitt has it, will be solid... you would hope Shazier really uses this year as a spring board.

Actually I have a slightly different twist on this - I'm hoping for a few light socket moments where certain players stick their fingers in some sockets and shock themselves into swift retirements - no names needed - we all know who they are.

I think it's Dupree. If his lightbulb has already come on, then I don't think he's going to hit his potential. I see a guy who can be as dominant on the edge as Robert Quinn if he can fully "get it." I think next season he takes a step forward to being a 12+ sack kind of guy.

I'm hoping a lightbulb goes off in Tomlins head about how important the running back position is but 2 years in a row same fate... They need a rotation of 3 backs and hopefully keep Bell healthy for playoffs.

I don't know if he still counts but it really looked Like the game started to click for J Jones down the stretch.

I agree with the players mentioned, but I've got this feeling that Jesse James is going to surprise a lot of people next season.

    J. James, Chickillo and Coates.

I think James steps up his blocking game as he fills out and gets stronger with better technique. He looked like a plodder in pre-season, but much smoother as the season went on and had decent moves in space.

Chickillo should have a full offseason of NFL level training to further hone his body for the OLB position and work on his technique. I'm really interested to see if he clicks and takes off. Especially if Harrison doesn't come back. That would leave Dupree, Jones and Moats. Chick has to step up because of the way they rotate those OLB's

Coates: I think he's gotten a taste of the game and he can be special as well. Like to see the light come on as far as his reads and running his routes.

 How many teams have 3 good RBs? If only the Steelers had signed Steven Jackson they would be in the Super Bowl.
