I know a lot of Steelers fans including myself wanted them to draft Byron Jones but instead we got Derpree. I'm glad we still got that 1st next year, it's going to be the year!! Note it took him 4 years and now he's the best corner in the league. I sure hope Ben, o-line, and everybody else makes it to 2023!!! That's our year.

Byron Jones was initially supposed to be the guy for cornerback for Dallas. Issue was, at the time, Bradon Carr and Morris Claiborne were still solid starters at the time. In addition towards the void at Free Safety, Dallas relied on analytics and metrics to see if Byron Jones was worth a shot.

Initally he was. As time passed though, it was clear that being a Free Safety is not his natural position. Now that he is at that position, you see him making plays.

Notice how I said "natural position". Dupree needs to rush more and drop less. Now, some of his production woes are still on Dupree. The other portion belongs to Butler.

Because there was already so many Dupree threads but then I thought this deserved it's own for many reasons. You are missing the big picture. It took him 4 years to become the best and Cowboys are better at developing DBs. That was our whole point with the Peterson trade. Whoever the 1st is used for in 2019 it's more then likely going to take 4 years for him to reach his potential. Ben, o-line, etc going to make it until 2023?

I'm not sure I'll make it to 2023 but if we need a QB maybe Brady will be at the end of his contract and we'll win #7 with a 47 year old QB.

You’re a real Debbie downer. Freaking miserable human being. Supposedly a fan, but all you do is whine incessantly over spilt milk.

Debbie downer? I've become a realist after years of being letdown. It's the same issue every year and they refuse to address it. How am I suppose to be happy about that?

    You sure you want that?

    1) Bud Dupree - bust

    2) Golson - Never even played a game

    3) Coates - Had one good game

    4) Grant - bust

    5) James - I like James but apparently they don't because they have wasted a lot of time trying to find somebody to replace him.

    6) LT Walton - waste

    6) Chickillo - Career specials/back up

    7) Holliman - Who?

Good thing we have all those sacred draft picks in 2019.

It's looking like '15 is worse than '08 and that's bad. At least Mendenhall was a good contributor for a few years. Mendenhall made it further in the playoffs than the sacred Bell cow.

Jesse James is the only saving grace.

Agreed but the thing is I still think Colbert is one of the best GMs especially at evaluating talent. I just can't give him a pass anymore and who knows maybe he's being blocked by somebody else. But his refusal to give up picks to address areas where he isn't very good at drafting is absurd. It would be one thing if the Haden experiment failed but he's the best corner we have seen since Woodson. He shutdown Julio and Green who are arguably Top 5-10 WRs this decade on this horrible defense.

sad thing is cowboys invested heavily in their D and now its the leagues best alongside Ravens.

Cowboys defense is elite, never thought I would say that again lol. Our defense has never even come close to 2008 levels, or even 2011 level since then.

Cowpies defense is elite? Who have they played this year? Don't they have a cupcake schedule because of their suckage last year? I predict that murica's team doesn't make the playoffs. Man you need to get out of Texas, they have you drinking the koolaid.

their offense is atrocious and they punt like 50 times a game yet are 2nd in points behind balt.

Yes their defense is elite and no I am not close to being a fan. I am as much of a dallas fan as Steel machine is an eagles fan, or Heinzmustard a pats fan, BFT a giants fan, or Glenn a fan of anyone/anything lol

The Cowpies have played a Jags team without Fournette, a sinking ship Giants, a.smith check-down Redskins, Panthers with only Cam worth a crap on offense, an early Lions team that is adopting to a new coach. Yes they did look good against the Texans except they lost.
Cupcake schedule has them pretending. As in Pretenders not contenders. Yes I am a Cowpie hater.

P.s. HeinzMustard is infatuated with the Patriots. I have not seen a day go bye on this board without him in awe of their potential.

Taylor was weird. Most of the time, he was a very good corner whose only limitation was his inability to catch the ball. But sometimes he would have games that he couldn't do anything right all day. It was as if a few bad plays early got in his head and he fell apart. The infamous loss to Tebow was one of those.
