Brown has a potential suspension hanging over his head right now. He also has all the other crap he did to get himself traded away from the Steelers and cut by the Raiders. I'm not sure teams want to deal with all that. In terms of morality, which seems to be what you are talking about, I agree with you. That part won't even make another team blink.

Trading up for Bush was possible without the Brown trade. Remember, when Colbert was selling that narrative, he was taking a good bit of criticism for trading Brown. It's a false narrative that people like to buy into, but the Steelers would have been just as capable of trading up to get Bush if they hadn't moved Brown.

What I don't understand is that Roethlisberger got suspended for boorish behavior. Brown's behavior is boorish tenfold, so Goodell needs to suspend him as soon as he signs with a team, if in fact he does sign with a team.

AB's the first player in NFL history to have his jersey from three different teams on the clearance rack in stores at the same time

There was evidence of Roethlisberger's bad behavior, if not the rape. It's not as if he was cleared. From what I read, he and the girl were both so drunk, I'm not even sure if either of them knows what happened after Roethlisberger's entourage locked her in that bathroom with him.

Honestly, I'm betting it just depends how much attention the news gets if and when Brown does get another shot. The league has allowed bad PR to be its guide many times. I suspect that will again be the case.

I do wonder what the league thinks of the first accuser, Brown's former trainer. They met with her for 10 hours, but there is no indication if they came out of that believing her or thinking she was full of crap.

How many times does Lucy have to pull the football away before you guys stop trying to kick it?

I have never seen a player implode the way AB has. He's gotten himself released from 3 teams in the blink of an eye. Belichick couldn't even get this guy to behave for a week. Nobody is touching him this year.

Maybe next year someone takes a flyer on him. I'm not sure the guy will even be alive next year if he doesn't get himself some help.

Logged on today hoping to see a "Let's pick up AB" post...not disappointed! At this point, If I were AB, I would ask Burfict to tackle me head first again, so I could have the sense knocked back into me. Honestly, Burfict should have been charged with theft after that hit because he stole whatever good sense AB did have. AB if you are reading this, get yourself a good attorney...wait you have one already...AB get yourself a better attorney and sue Burfict!

AB's attitude first caught my attention during the Chicago Bears game last year when he didn't wanna come out & stand for the national anthem. Went downhill from there...

I think all of us were nervous about all the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties he got for his touchdown celebrations. This showed us that he wasn't a team first player but we blinded our eyes to this fact because of his incredible talant.

After making more money than all of us on this board combined will make in our lifetimes he will be bankrupt in just a few years.

Do the Steelers make the trade for Bush without the two draft picks from Oakland?

I remember when AB first started he was a model team mate and the only things you heard were how he practices and trains like crazy to get better. WTF happened, is it something in him that was buried all along.
When Ben had his issues it gets to a point where even the local Pittsburgh press started leaking out all of his the lousy behavior.
Was AB always a complete ass and the PR dept. kept a lid on it or has he had a complete meltdown or did a number of hits to the head damage him.
At this point it is both sad and pathetic and I hope he does get help because in the last year he has been Charlie Sheen 2.0.

I'm not sure how you are so confident about this. They might have been able to make the trade but you don't know that they would have made the trade. They've even said that having the picks allowed them to do it. They might not have wanted to trade the picks had they not had the extras. We don't really know.

The way I see it, he flipped his lid a couple years ago.
The prima donna stuff might have been there along, but no one could have kept this type of behavior hidden for almost 10 years.

The only way I see AB turning this around.......The whole time in burning down the Steelers on his way out....he talked about Ben getting special treatment...Now he got treated like everyone else in Oakland,,,,and he got treated like everyone else in NE. MAYBE....just MAYBE...he realized that he was actually getting special treatment in Pitt....and that things were not as bad as he made them out to be in his head.

That being said...I don't see AB as a "this is my fault" kind of guy.....Everyone is out to get him..and trying to stop him from being great....and that song and dance has most likely cost him $, a ring, a yellow jacket, and his career.

    HACK
