Right. I remember them winning playoff games with Bubby Brister as QB and Merrill Hodge as our main back. No prima donnas there, just roll up your sleeves and get to work type of guys.

I find it hard to believe any team will sign Brown now let alone give him any kind of guaranteed money. But there apparently are some desperate GMs out there.

Didn’t @Stone@Stone suggest the Steelers were aware that all wasn’t right in AB’s camp? Something to do with one of his entourage?

Fowler is reporting that he can't be placed on the commissioner's list until he is on a team so the Pats did him a slight favor by releasing him.

Can't imagine any team picking him up. I don't think anyone would have touched him last time if the Pats didn't throw him a life line. Which he promptly hung himself with.

I thought for sure Goodell would do it to try and get him under control and out of the spotlight but no stopping him now. You're right I think he is radioactive right now and no team risks their roster to sign him like this.

Supposedly, other teams were interested, but I doubt we will ever know for sure. I agree that it is unlikely anybody would want him now. The report of threatening text messages to one of his accusers is particularly disturbing. If it is true, one of those had a picture of her children. That sure sounds like he was threatening her kids to shut her up. That's some scary stuff, well beyond any of the crap he pulled previously.

One of the people in the text chain was a convicted steroids and drug dealer.

To the OP. No, it's never going to happen.

Regarding AB. He is a pathological Narcissus and he needs clinical help before he seriously hurts himself or someone else.

I think this is the funniest thread in a while, or would be if AB was not such a train wreck. The Steelers got nine good seasons out of AB and ended up turning his return into Devin Bush. The Raiders lost on AB, the Patriots lost on AB (not sure how much yet). It’s like selling a car that was about to break down.
What a week for AB. Cheatriots released him. Doctor accused him of repeatedly farting in his face. Nike dropped him.

Bright side: Maybe Beano will pick him up as a celebrity endorser.

They did not use his return to get Devin Bush. They used his return to get Diontae Johnson and Zach Gentry. They traded two picks higher than anything they got for Brown, this year's first and second rounders, as part of the package for Bush. I know Colbert tried to sell that narrative, but if you think about it critically, you will see it isn't true.

The rest of your post is just fine, though it seems the Patriots didn't really lose much other than another hit to their reputation, which they really don't care about as long as the wins keep coming.

Everyone saying that no team wants him may be a bit delusional. I can guarantee several teams are keeping an open mind about this whole situation. If there are no criminal charges forthcoming and only civil suits then there will be a handful of potential playoff teams that will go after his unbelievable talent. Knuckleheads and lawsuits are everywhere throughout all major sports these days. Owners don't care as long as they can hoist a trophy and neither do most fans.

True, they did not directly draft Bush with the picks obtained from the Raiders, but having them made trading up via the Donkos possible.
Yeah, it’s just like them to come out unscathed in Fixboro. If the ship storm passes, they could even sign AB again.

With Tyreek Hill injured, I would not be surprised if the Chiefs sign him and try to delay any league decision for a few weeks until Hill comes back
