Not sure what the Pens are going to do with Guentzel?? I think his contract is up? Our chances if we get in are going to be slim but they get rid of him they become impossible.

I fell in love with the guy our last Cup.

I think it is more likely they sign him or even let him walk, although the “report” is he turned down a reasonable offer: “Jake Guentzel has now reportedly turned down a contract worth $8.5 million per season over six campaigns”

Seeing all of the festivities this weekend and hearing the stories makes me that much more pissed off about how Ray Shero messed up a return to Pittsburgh for Jagr. Shero believed everyone wanted to play in Pittsburgh when that wasn't the case. Jagr has always been the type to play harder for the teams that wanted him vs teams that didn't show the love. Another example of Shero buying into his own hype.

So happy today could happen, 66 and 68 together forever. Let's Go Pens.

Jagr is in uniform skating with the team pregame.

    ESPN+ covering the festivities.

So disappointing tonight to let Jarry hanging out to dry like that. SHOOT THE FREAKING Puck on the PP dang it! Pass Pass Pens lose another one.

It amazes me how someone could even think that’s a possibility.

He is 36. I see some disagree with you but IMO it makes sense. We are not winning another Cup with Sid. Alas he is a Pittsburgh hero and I'm guessing brings people to the seats. I'm going to ask those that disagreed their reasoning.

I'm curious their thoughts since the Penguins are slip sliding away with or without him.

At 36 years old Crosby is playing some of the best hockey of his life. Letang as well. Malkin is finished unfortunately. If they trade Crosby the PPG Paints Arena will be a ghost town so yes he puts people in the seats. They need to build a younger roster around Crosby and Letang. Both of them are workaholics and should remain with the club. Get a good return for Guentzel and get rid of old man Carter. A coaching change might not be a bad idea either.

Makes sense to me. I only get to see a few games. Got spoiled with that great run of Playoffs and Cups but if Sid still has it I have some hope for the next few seasons.

I don't think I've been this bummed out about a Pens player since the Jagr trade. I'd say it's slightly on par with Shero dumping Staal during his wedding and trying to spin it as Jordan being ungrateful for everything the Pens did for him.

In 3rd would be the breaking apart of the team for Shero's white whale, Hossa. He dumped Ryan Whitney to try and find a winger for Sid, dumps youthful players that were fan favorites in Colby Armstrong and Eric Christionson to get Hossa and then loses hometown hero Ryan Malone because he wanted to prove he was the greatest GM ever by resigning Hossa and sadly he wasn't.

Going to miss Jake. He was undoubtedly the best winger Sid has played with. Best of luck to him.

Jagr leaving was a true gut punch and what we received for him was borderline criminal. Trading Guentzel was inevitable and unfortunate but still stings badly. I liked Jake the second he put on that Pens uniform. Malkin is my favorite player but his play has slipped drastically this year. They should have traded him 2 years ago and gotten some great return. I’m hoping Geno can turn it back around but I have my doubts. Ron Hextall set this team back a half decade with his lousy deals. LETS GO PENS!!!!!!!!!!!

It a fact of life in modern sports but in this case it didn't have to be this way and you dropped the top goal scorer on the team for magic beans. Geno hasn't been the same since James Neal left and Sully constantly mixing lines on the fly doesn't mess with who he is as a player. One my huge complaints this year is Jarry. Analytics says he is having a solid year but frankly he sucks. He is a good AHL goalie but average backup in the NHL and can't take the grind of being the guy full time. They should have gone goalie shopping in the off season instead if getting Karlsson.

What an absolutely awesome effort from these pesky Penguins tonight. Heck they almost got a short handed goal on a 5 on 3 but unfortunately the laziest player in the league Ovechkin got his bajillionth goal by being in his same spot. Ned was once again the star of the game. LETS GO PENS!!!!!!!! They still have a heartbeat.

Pens looking good lately. 4-1 over TB at the moment. Game on ABC.

If this shot would have went in it would have been in top 10 for this season. Crosby with his back to the net took a pass and without looking at net shot it between his legs. Hit the frigging post. He had beat the goalie.

And just like that it's 4-4:(

PENS! Won 4 straight and I'm hoping like hell they can get 3 spot in The Met. Really want to finish ahead of Flyers.
