Let's discuss Hines and the HOF

I think it`s a no-brainer that he should be there, for all of the reasons already mentioned.
I also know, there are a lot of other players, and Steelers, who aren`t, that I can find no reason for them not to be...
I thought Bettis was a lock, for first ballot, but I guess he will have to wait... It`s inconceivable to me that he won`t eventually make it. Same with Hines.
I still think there is a bias against Steeler players, just because we have so many in the Hall, already.
Like that should make any difference?!?!
All I can say, is , it sure seems to...

 

Bouchette wrote an article about that. Hines has more then just football. Last time i checked none of the wrs on the list worked with the president i n a realations building project in korea and i wouldnt be surprised if hines gets into politics. Also the mirrored ball helps him out also. Too many people get hung up on stats but its more of impact on the game on and off the field. I think he is in and imo opinion he deserves it more then the others on the list. Imagine the stats he would have put up if he played for the niners instead of rice.

 

I'm not arguing one way or the other. But, if a bunch of die hard Steelers fans can't agree on him being in the HOF, I have my doubts about a bunch of people across the country voting for him.

 

I don't think any of us disagree on Hines deserving a first-ballot HOF nod - I believe rather that this discussion is more about how he will be perceived outside of Steeler Nation.....at least I HOPE so....

 

All the negatives point to him being on a run first team.Besides that he is a sure thing.By time he is eligible those other recievers will be in the Hof.

 

He'll eventually get in. IMO
