The problem with blitz the hell out of them is they use a lot of short passes, screens and passes to the backs. It makes it very hard to blitz because you can't get to the QB fast enough. They don't take long drops and pass a lot of deep passes that take a lot of time to develop because I don't think they have the receiver's to play that type of game.

Fournette is also a beast in blitz pickup which helps them when he is playing.

Got to be able to disguise where it's coming from, and don't do it every play.

And yeah I think we all know the damage Fournette can do, a 4th overall pick out of the draft.

NY posted in the other thread that they’ve lost 5 of the last 7 against us in Jacksonville. Which was interesting, because like you I only seem to remember is losing there.

Will anyone be surprised if Landry Jones is cut by the Jags after this week? The signing has all the smells of a typical Tom Coughlin ploy.

Hope for Landrys sake that isn't the case.

New OC though, don't really know what he could gleam that would be really beneficial to him that they can't find out studying film.

Is this the same Fournette that had 24 touches and 53 yards against the colts?

It was his first game back and your summary of his performance is not accurate. Fournette ran the ball 24 times for 53 yards, but he also caught five passes for 56 yards and one touchdown. The ground game wasn't good, but overall the Jaguars' offense looked much better with his return.

Injuries played a significant role in the slow start. DeCastro and Haden each missed a game. McDonald missed a game. They really got nothing out of Burnett until the last two weeks due to injury. I still think Roethlisberger's injury in the opener hampered his play up to the bye week.

I think getting everybody healthy was a huge part of the team's improvement in recent weeks. Hopefully, Tuitt only misses one game and the defense can hold up without him.

I heard on the radio yesterday Tuit probably could have played but his wife just gave birth to their first child so they decided against it.

    Congrats to him! :drinks:

Also Conner got cleared to play! :steelflag:

we just need to go in to there and take care of business. alualu can play well enough to take over for tuitt for a game. vince and bostic need to quit taking bad angles and make the tackles on fornut. 7-2-1 after this week.

Wonderful for him, but his wife gave birth Friday so he can't play Sunday? I hope that isn't true. I get Tomlin's rules on this stuff, but this is a defensive lineman. If he's healthy enough to play, he should be out there regardless of missing a few practices.

He does have an injury. One, which I believe I heard on the radio would do well to rest this week. Need him for the rest of the season too.

What I'm saying is that if the only reason he is sitting out is that the birth of his child caused him to miss practice Friday, that is foolish. I wonder if the two days of missed practice were precautionary or because he wasn't ready to go. Based on Tomlin's comments Tuesday, I thought it might the precautionary.

Tuitt has hyperextended elbow, him missing the game has nothing to do with his wife having a baby.

Maybe he hyperextended the elbow while delivering the baby?
