I think Tomlin did the right thing and I support him totally. I highly doubt that Tomlin was even thinking about where Blount would wind up at all. In his mind, I suppose he thought it was riskier to keep him than to let him go. I think that was a good guess. The irony is that people hate on Bill but what Tomlin did was very "Bill-esque" because he didn't put a player above the team. That's sorta the Pats motto really. It's funny though that Tomlin has had more problems from runningbacks than any other position. He didn't get along with Mendy. He didn't get along with Dwyer. He didn't get along with Blount. Anyone else notice this pattern? All those guys are headcases though. Just think it's kinda odd. I hope he gets along with Bell!

Seriously all jokes aside, NFL needs to step in here.
Drug issue, attitude problem, cut from a few teams, past history dated back to college ball.
    Guys like this need help.
NFL needs to give him some help in light of all the bad stuff players are in the news for.

I was thinking much the same thing. Our offense is pretty transparent at the best of times. Hence why execution is so important.

Blount doesn't suddenly become a better player by moving to NE, and he certainly doesn't start to see more of the ball. I'd wager he doesn't make it through to the end of the season there.

Welp, Blount just scored a TD for the Pats...and did an AB style touchdown dance.

I think they should have docked his pay for leaving the game and suspended him at least one week. Then release him. At least then he is punished and it hits his checkbook.

If Blount tore a ACL it wouldn't bother me at all, what a punk quitter.

Smoking weed isn't a drug problem. The NFL doesn't need to get involved just because a guy is an ******* with a temper, which Blount appears to be. They'd need to get involved with like 25% of the league.

Agree about the NFL not getting involved. There are worse things for them to be focusing on.

Blount's agent, on the other hand, could maybe do with having a word with him. Mind you, I doubt he's complaining too much right now...

Smoking weed can absolutely be a drug problem! Depending on how much you smoke and whether you have an addictive personality. I have family members who have gotten addicted and lost all motivation, I've worked for very wealthy, otherwise intelligent, people who lost almost everything after getting stoned and making REALLY stupid business decisions. To some, weed can be just as addictive as alchohol.

There are reports that Blount walked out on the team because he knew they would release him. I believe it he knew he would get more carries with another team, than he was getting with the Steelers.

I hope we play them in the playoffs, and give several forms of payback. Problem is they are really good, but for some reasons the steelers have showed up against good teams.

Had a friend who did the same. No such thing as safe drugs. Just like you and most people on this board can have a drink and have it be nothing more, there are others who's lives are ruined over it. Everybody is different.

Like my dad claiming that he wasn't an alchoholic 'cause he only drank beer (I don't do drugs, I just smoke a little weed) trouble was, he'd start his day with 1 cup of coffee and switch to beer for the REST of the day.

I agree - It's all about the person themselves and whether they can handle it or not. I know just as many successful people as I know bums who smoke.
