    The Steelers have released Blount.

Tomlin: "We believe the decision to release LeGarrette is in the best interest of the organization and wish him the best of luck"

WOW! If all was true thats going around...I expected some sort of punishment...but I figured they'd give him another chance so to speak. Who knows...maybe more to the story than reported!

But in reality if it came down to lack of carries/etc that started all this...Blount had to know coming to Pittsburgh he was going to be the #2 behind Bell...aka the backup/etc. So who knows.

    Oh yeah.

Nice display of chutzpah by the team, I like it.

Sucks and badly hurts their depth, but it HAD to be done.

Things move quick, wow, very impressed that this happened so swiftly..... with no apparent replacement.

They better hope Bell doesn't get injured. Ben Tate is available he got released by the Browns.

TTF, you forgot the rest of Tomlin's quote - "We have asked Dri Archer to immediately start lifting weights."

Dri Archer. Josh Harris will likely be brought up from the practice squad.

I'm also wondering if they will bring someone else in as well - like a Michael Bush.

Theres gotta be someone out there better than Harris that they can bring in with the bye week and all and give him time to catch up on things.

    LOL!

It's a shame, I liked the signing and was hoping the lightbulb would go on for him. Would have provided good depth but I totally agree with the move.

    Onto team #5 Blount :applaud:

From all I know, there has to have been more that went on behind the scenes. In a way, I kind of hope it doesn't come out. Hopefully, they can sign some good talent off the street (or off another team's practice squad). I don't see Archer ready to be the primary back up, and we can run Bell like that every week.
