I had a gut feeling he might sign...the remaining FA RB field was getting thinner with Moreno and MJD signing the remaining "bigger names" were Bush, A. Brown and that was about it besides Felix...maybe a couple others I missed but yeah.

I think its a solid signing. People questioning him bouncing from team to team and his prior off the field issues. First as an UDFA he made the Titans roster in 2010...but they cut him to bring in some LB help...he was claimed the next day by TB. During that rookie year with TB he gained over 1000 yards (highest for a rookie)....and that was only in 13 games. The next year wasn't bad...like a little under 800 yard. 2012 Schiano came in...and drafted an RB in the 1st round...and Blount went on to start 0 games that year. And the next year was traded to NE. He just fell out of favor with stupid Schiano and they sent him packing. He played well for NE sharing the load with 2 other guys. He also returned some KO's as well and did decent there too.

Since being in the league...to my knowledge he hasnt had any off the field issues and so on...though I could be wrong.

    NICE SIGNING!

I just hope he does to Terrell Thuggs what he did to that kid in college when he cold cocked him after a game. If he were to do that, I'd forgive him that one little transgression, wouldn't you?

This signing will definitely keep Bell on his toes!! I see competition written all over this. :applaud:

For the #1 RB role? LOL no... He will be great at keeping the mileage on Bell down, and getting some tough yards in short yardage situations. I doubt he sees more than 10 carries in any game that Bell is healthy for. However, he definitely brings something positive to the team. I love the signing.

Whoa whoa whoa...hold the phone, now. That was NOT the message at all. It was the other way around: what the F was wrong with players that caused them to want to go elsewhere.

Love the signing! I've said it since last week he makes perfect sense in Pitt as he will NOT be the starter, but is the "boom" the running game needs. Hard nosed runner ( what you old school guys wanted) and in ground and pound games the two of them will wear D lines down. Can't catch the ball, but it won't matter. Our RB s and the O line with Coach Munch should put us top 7 run games in the league, and that my friends is where we need to be.

I didn't define this competition as striving for no.1 we know who that is but rather competition -production- results! Surely a good catch!

Me thinks the new OL coach had something to do with this signing as well.

if you are worried about fumbling, then I suggest looking up Franco and Terry's fumbling stats from the glory years. You need 2 running backs, and Blount is much better than Dwyer. Very good signing.

I'm sure several in the org. had input in this sign..a depth that needed filled and the purple woman beater that play's for our adversary only made it more urgent ( ref. a Raven signing )... just glad we have our #2.

More on the field, sorta. Blount got a lot of bad press for this.

It's in the past, I'm sure he's a little more mature now or would at least hope so. Young hot heads I'm sure a lot of us were, just don't have video proof of what we won't admit. The guy is a game changer and all signs point to the fact that he has moved on in a positive direction. Plus he don't appear to be diva at all which is huge nowadays. Gotta believe our guys will keep him reeled in if necessary and can't wait for the dual threat of the killer bee's coming outta the backfield!

Can't wait to see (if it happens) a 2 back formation in 3rd and shorts what the D will opt to do, especially if/when sending Bell in motion. Many options here folks. And I hope Todd explores them all.

They need to use Blount in goal line situations so Bell doesn't get knocked out like he did against the Ravens.
