Lefty

I think its time for lefty to be cut this offseason. He has been injured the past couple seasons and now is again. I think its best to get rid of him and search for a couple new backups.

 

I'm guessing that is why they only gave him a 1-year contract.

 

Got my vote to cut ties with him. Should have taken himself out of the game for the better of the team if Tomlin wasn't going to yank him. Clearly he was too injured to play in the second half. He knew it and the whole world knew it also. Not sure what Mike and the Medics were thinking.

I would think that both Leftwich and Charlie Batch will both be released (or not resigned, whatever their situation) during the off season.

Bring back Jerrod Johnson and get rid of Batch and Lefty.

 

I tink both of our fossils have seen thier day with the PGH
Steelers after this year. They are just to injury prone.

I don't think Batch will be cut, but more because of the supportive and motivational role he plays. He is truly a team leader in the locker room and on the field, and I think it's a big part of the reason he is kept on as a backup. That said, if we do make room for two more backup QBs, I'd like to see them move Charlie into a coaching role of some sort. A couple of years ago, SI did an article on five veteran players who would make excellent coaches, and Batch was on that list. Have to say, I concur.
