Dude I don't even want to think about it honestly. They have some good players in AZ but aren't some of them FA's?

Oh man, if the old man goes out to Arizona, I'm sure he will cook up something special for the steelers.

Knowing the Steelers luck, Ike would make 2 picks and Troy would have a crucial sack fumble......

It was reported that DL might not want to go so far west from his home in Cincy. At his age, I think he's nuts if he does that, the man must definitely be afraid to retire.

So basically since we pick right after AZ it's like they get two picks in a row. LOL.

Well you know how it seems sometimes. People can work for years and years and be healthy and finally decide to retire and all of a sudden just up and die. They say the secret is to stay active so maybe that's what DL is thinking.

Couldn't find a line on it, but I'd take the Lebeau to Cardinals bet!

And after they hire DL they can sign Ben to a contract where he can finish his career in AZ with BA!
Crazy to think of all the possibilities that could happen this off-season.

I used to own a company a while back. Over time, I had 3 employees who had done the same thing for 40+/- years. Not all at the same time, but each one of them died within a year of retiring. After the 3rd one, I told the rest of the employees retirement was no longer permitted.

That must have been a scary day for them when you closed up shop :gasp:

They can take our castoffs but won't be signing Ben, under contract for a couple more years.

The most likely candidates to replace Bowles as DC:

Nick Rapone -- Currently the Cardinals' defensive backs coach, Rapone, 58, has defensive coordinator experience. He held the position at four different colleges -- Temple, Pittsburgh, Connecticut and Delaware -- before joining Arians' staff in 2013. The two worked together at Temple from 1983-88 and Rapone coached Bowles with the Owls.

James Bettcher -- The youngest on the list at 36, Bettcher has been the Cardinals' outside linebackers coach the past two seasons. He's proved this season his ability to work with personnel issues when Arizona was without John Abraham, Matt Shaughnessy and Alex Okaforat some point throughout the season. He has Arians' trust. Bettcher spent 2012 as the special assistant to the head coach in Indianapolis and Arians brought him to Arizona.

For the life of me I can't understand peoples obsession with thinking we are moving to a 4-3? why beacause it worked 35 years ago.... well big difference is we had a D full of HOFers

We have very little 4-3 personnel... Guys would have to learn all new techniques...Tomlin is a 3-4 coach now....its not 2002 and hes coaching the tampa 2 anymore....he has been a 3-4 coach since he got here and has drafted accordingly....people you cannot just switch a defensive scheme overnight ....it takes a good 2-3 years and that is a waste of Ben's 4-6 years he has left....

Now going to a more hybrid scheme is possible where you have more of a swing guy that can do both

More hybrid as far as the NFL goes, but exactly the same 4-3 and 5-2 stuff that High School Teams have been running for 15 years . The pro game has finally caught up with the spreads and multiple sets that High Schools employ . And the best way to defend it is with more DL .

We want to run more big nickel and big dime which for all intensive purposes is a 4-3 .The next move is take out all LB'S and insert 2 more Strong Safeties in the box and add a DL and boom you have a 5-2 aka big dime .

Less blitzing , more stunting and tighter coverage that's why I can't wait to see more multiple DL fronts .

just a question ..do you consider spence and shazier able to be the two strong safeties or they have to go out in this scheme ?
