by 29 over the next closest player.

I find it inconceivable that Conner is not getting at least 4 to 5 carries a game.

IMO, just another questionable move by Haley .

Agree... Connor and Watson need more carries over the next few weeks. Need to save Bell for New England.

Rushing attempts don't mean a thing, yards average per attempt is what counts, bell is only averaging 3.8 yards per attempt, he's way down from where he should be with as many carries he's getting, example the last two years he averaged 4.9 per carry, bottom line he is getting way to many carries this early in the season and it shows.....Another indicator of over use is in 2014 he had 290 carries in 16 games for a 4.7 yard average, this year after 9 games he already has 220 for 3.8, obviously to many carries this early...

I’d love to see Conner get more playing time.

I read where part of what is holding Conner back is his lack of being able to help in the rushing game and particularly his inability to pick up the blitz. He was blamed, I believe, on 2 of the interceptions on the 5 interception day.

is it me or does conner get his run and ends up limping? it seems like every time he does get a chance to run the ball, he gets hobbled. i've noticed that all year. can he handle more carries? i'd like to think so, but...........

yes jeh that's what i read earlier this year that conner is having trouble in the pass protection part of his game. if it's such a problem then go to watson.:cool:

Anybody else notice anytime Conner is in they always run it and it's always a sweep right or left? Maybe they don't think he's big enough to block and run up the middle?

I say run him till he can’t walk
Then let someone else sign him to the big deal

I honestly think that’s the plan. I don’t think there’s an expectation that we’ll get a deal done. Just my opinion, but the zillion carries per game supports that.

He is heavier than Bell, currently playing around 233. Le'vean is playing around 220

That is exactly what I was going to say. He has looked injured after almost every carry. I also hope he can carry more but we won't know until he does it.

As far as running Bell, I think the issue is whether we are going to wear him down this year. Given his contract situation, I doubt the team feels much concern over whether he is worn down for next year and years after. He might be back next year but I think it is highly unlikely he is beyond that. So run him until his wheels fall off, so long as that isn't this year.

Btw, I think the real issue with Bell is the line. I don't see Bell leaving a lot of yards on the field, although it has happened a few times this year. I see a lot of plays where Bell has nowhere to go. The line is talked about as one of the best in the league, but I often find myself questioning that. Too many penalties and blown assignments. I also have never thought that this line is particularly good at blocking for the run when other teams expect the run or when other teams have very big defensive lines.

The lack of third-down conversions don't help at all. Whether it's Ben or TH, the offense, especially the run game, is super obvious. Just no surprises.

What can Bell do when a defender smells out every damn run.

At least early in the season, his blocking was a problem.

Conner can run he just can't protect his papaw .This is why he can't get consistent work . The only plan I see in effect is burning all the rubber off the tires to protect the motor that is bound to jump time.

if its the pass blocking that is keeping Conner from playing then run him 2 of 3 times in a row like they do Bell most of the time. He should be getting at east 5 or 6 runs a game. It is just crazy how they use Bell so much. I have been saying this for 2 years now.

Lev Bell is fading....either he is hurt or something else is going on, I'm not buying the too many carries thing.

He’s definitely not 2nd on the depth chart as a receiver. For one thing, he has several drops.
