I don't think it's accurate to say that last year was "his only bad year" and before that he was playing "great". He had shown flashes of brilliance the first few years of his career and then would disappear or be a non-factor for games at a time. He's been much more consistent this year than he has at any point in his career.

I very rarely get down on our players, I haven't had a problem with Timmons. 2010 he did very well, 2009 his numbers weren't as good but recorded 7 sacks and 4 forced fumbles. I'd like to see sacks go up and see some more consistency out of him but I never felt he should be demoted or worse, off the team.

Some players do require a little more patience than others. Remember how some were ready to write Troy off in his rookie season because he seemed lost out there? Of course the difference is that Troy became a bonafide superstar in year 2 and never looked back.

Was it year two that he took off? I though it was year three before he got traction but back then it was even worse then now, you were guaranteed to sit on the pine for a year or two in those days.

While i agree with you on timmons, i can't echo the rest of the post....a comment like one of the few bright spots takes away fromthr contributions of larry foote, ryan clarke, ike taylor, will allen, keenan lewis ect..... the defense on a whole has kept us above water, despite the lack of t/o's.
