My thoughts... yes the pass "looks' like it was backwards..but that is where is ended up. The rule states [A lateral pass is distinguished from a forward pass, in which the ball is thrown forward, towards the opposition's end zone] ..

to me it looks like Kennys arm was throwing forward.....then the wind drifted the ball backwards...which does NOT matter, its the "beginning and direction" of the throw...not where it ends up.
