as more things have happened and we may not be done yet here goes.

    1. matt elam S Fla. .... i haven't waivered much on this pick from the beginning. i think we need the pick and he should be a good one. we are replacing the best in football soon.

    2. barrett jones C/G/T Ala. ...... i know we have other needs, but he was the best o-lineman at his position the last two years. he had foot surgery right after the season and dropped. they like these type of guys and we have needs on the O-line as depth.

    3. john simon OLB Oh.St. ....... great motor. D player of the year in Big10+2. needs some work, but thats what we do here in steel city, we produce LB'ers and good ones. he's all heart.

    4. kenjon barner RB Ore. ....... i have had him also since early. he's a homerun threat. he's built better then rainey and has tons of production from the oregon zone blocking scheme. he's a nice compliment and should fit haleys offense.

    5. chris harper WR K.St. ........ not a giant but a big receiver that will fight for the ball and produces. ex-qb smarts, and had to block for that running qb and is good at it. sounds familiar.

    6. etienne sabino ILB Oh.St. .... i've seen the kid play and he has the size. needs some coaching but played well for the buckeyes. we have time for him. he may sink to the mid 6th. he ran slow at his pro day but he is faster then that on the field by far.

    6. ryan griffen QB Tul. ....... charlies replacement.

    7. cameron lawrence ILB ..... one of the top LB'ers in the SEC. ex-QB. there is something about this kid. i see some glimpses of a young skinney kid from kent state.

well that's it for now. it's such a difficult year to call what they may do and really the unknown of some of this talent. we usually are a safe picking team. i think this is a safe mock with alot of talent. thoughts are welcome? :smiley1::cool:

I hear you on our S need. And I do like Elam more than Vacarro, but I just can't take a Round 1 Safety when there is so much depth at the position. This has been my argument all off-season. Would you rather have Jarvis Jones/Damontre Moore & Bacarri Rambo or Matt Elam/Kenny Vacarro & John Simon. I can't side with the latter.

Love Barrett Jones and I would LOVE it if he was somehow there for our 2nd round pick. He would be right in the mix with my selections.

We agreee on Barner and Griffin.

The only hole I see is waiting so long to get a WR. I am assuming you think Sanders will stick around? I am not so optimistic.

i think the difference in tier 1 safety to tier 2 safety is bigger then the difference between pass rushers. i think moore is going to slip down some. jones i like but there's no fixing his spinal trouble. he also had a ton of help around him as did rambo.

it's a tough call. i'm not overly excited about moore. i think he slides down the boards some by draft day. i think simon drops a little too. if he's there in the 3rd, i'd have to snatch him, still allowing us to get the best safety out there. he's our qb in the defensive backfield in the near future. ike, troy and clark could very well be gone after this year. that's a big hit without top talent in place. we still have vet OLB'ers.

i think worilds will do well. they seem to be looking at the smaller OLB types alot. 6-2 250 range. lemonier, stansly managupo or whatever his name is, simon, jones. thats the spot they want to fill. moore is more of the bigger OLB in the mold of woodley and honestly worilds, montgomery types.

these guys at the top are more potential then results really. i don't mean that in a bad way just that they will or may take longer to see the field and can they do everything we require them to do. butler and DLB are funny that way. their guys don't learn on the job. they learn the job first and then get to show what they can do.

this year is getting a little clearer as we get closer, but i still think it's replacing a future HOF'er at SS in round 1.

one thing i've been reading on these pass rushers, and a guy i have liked and mentioned might be their pick is okafor. he doesn't fit their 6-2 250 guy but he's the best pass rusher out of the bunch that will be around i believe. i'll try and find the article on the comparisons.

i'll let you know about your mock on it's page. you and i are pretty close on guys we like i know that. your right it's a tough draft class to get a real clear cut guy out of.
