I still envision that first drive the Jags had, marched right down the field like our defense was a bunch of ghosts, 7. Then the ghosts reappared in the 4th.

Glad they are struggling now. One less of a concern. I am more concerned with the usual , the cheats and now the KC Chiefs. Their offense is going to drop a 60 banger on someone soon and their defense has made some adjustments ( are you listening Butler?) and played quite well against the bungles.

Here is the stat line from last years loss:

I've never understood the "Bortles torched us" narrative. The guy was 14/26 for 214 yards and 1 touchdown pass. That's a 53% completion rate. The Jags had four plays of 20yds or more; three were Bortles passes, but only one was a deep ball (the other two were mostly YAC by the receivers). His lone TD pass didn't occur until there were only 4min left in the game. How did that performance beat us?

It was 3rd down where he killed us. We just couldn't get off the field. I'm not sure what his 3rd down passing stats were. But it seemed like every 3rd down throw he made was money.

Bortles beat them? Yes, he and the 164 rushing yds on 35 carries, an INT that gave Jax the ball on the Steelers 18, a strip fumble of Ben for a TD , and 4th down failures on the Jax22 and theJax 39.

Besides that other trivial stuff, Blake Bortels singlehandedly owned this team.

And Bortles will be on fire again... November 18th.

If Fournette is healthy, I don't think it will be close. Jags will win by at least 2 scores.

I don't trust the Steelers against Jaguars after last year. Maybe Steelers can beat them... but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Actually, they shut Fournette down the first three quarters of the regular-season meeting and Bortles did next to nothing, but Roethlisberger's interceptions handed the Jags a double-digit lead. The Jaguars' offense only scored 17 points in that game. They trailed the Steelers, 9-7, before they returned two interceptions of Roethlisberger for touchdowns.

The game was effectively over before Fournette's 90-yard touchdown run. The Jaguars were up by 14 with under two minutes left.

My point is a team with Blake Bortles under center came into Pittsburgh and beat a 13-3 Steeler team. For me second most embarrassing loss since 1970.

Wrong. Heyward and Tuitt said going into the playoff game they still had nightmares of Fournette running all over them. Then he did it again.

It just seemed like everytime Bortles needed to make a play, he made one. I kept waiting for Bortles to make a mistake, and it never happened.

Once again, it is you who are wrong.

It was absolutely incorrect to say they had never stopped him. Fournette and the rest of the Jacksonville offense did next to nothing the first three quarters of the regular-season game last season. They had one dominating drive in the fourth, then the 90-yard run after the game was out of reach.

The defense ran out of gas in the fourth quarter after watching Roethlisberger throw the game away.

They were responding to the big number, but he did next to nothing for three quarters. I correctly pointed that out. He had 51 yards on the fourth quarter field goal drive and 90 on the long run. Before that, which means into the fourth quarter, he had only 40 yards. The statistics back up my statements. The rest is just you failing to properly deal with being wrong again.

Even the article you posted has a player talking about doing a good job on Fournette aside from the 90-yard run in garbage time. You didn't even bother to read the whole thing, did you?

Next time you try to claim a victory that didn't happen, try having your facts straight first. As it stands, once again, you failed.

The Chief's offense is dangerous. I'm impressed with this Mahomes. He's got a ton of weapons surrounding him.

Hard to say it, but I see them going up against New England this year in the AFC championship.

Unless we can get our **** together, I just don't see it happening this year. I hope I'm wrong.

Yes unfortunately when I watch the game (did several times), even our big dogs Heyward and Tuitt were pushed back off the line and run past. It was an ugly game for the defense overall. Tough one to see.

The greatest weak link was #96 L.T. Walton who I have no idea why he was in the game so much. Got pushed around like daddy was taking him to the woodshed.

Same. Zero confidence against them, or the Patriots..

    And that's not good.

Maybe Bell with all his rest and motivation for 17 mil a year will lead us to the promise land. :superman:

That is exactly what happened in the fourth quarter of the regular-season game and in the playoff game. The first three quarters of the regular-season game, however, Fournette did very little. He managed only 40 yards, not much for a feature back on a team that seemed to be afraid to throw. (Of course, that fear was well-founded with Bortles at quarterback.)
