We haven't been embarrassed into changing things by any of the horrible games the last couple of seasons. I see no reason to believe it will start now.

Unfortunately, I've already said that 2 other times this year (and multiple times last year) and it didn't seem to work out that way, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

I kept thinking that this team was just not playing up to their talent level, but with each passing loss to teams like the Browns and Tampa Bay (and Oakland last year), I'm starting to think that there really isn't a "snap out of it" or a response to a wake up call simply because they just aren't good enough at this point.

They got it together last year at the very end of the season and were playing well, but like last year, if they do get it together it will likely be too late to matter.

I love your optimism too, but based on what? We haven't gotten back on track in a while. The game as progressed and we haven't caught up yet.

Just out of interest, but I'm not sure I follow you here about the NFL - surely it's the Steelers who need to be worried about declining viewing figures etc.?

I am all for blowing it up and trading Ben with this caveat. We eliminate Colbert and the entire coaching staff. Clean house completely. Something is missing and has been since Ward retired. I thought Joey Porter would bring back that "swagger" we needed. I am beginning to think Tomlin is in over his head.

Maybe they turn it around but right now with the performance we saw yesterday we will be lucky to win 5 games this year...

Exactly.. the issues are ignored and the team moves on. Just when you think the team is making progress, it's the next assignment the wheels fall off. Whether it's coaching or team play this org. has yet found a formula for consistency. Another hurdle for next Mondaynight with JJ Watt & Co. coming to town. Their is no predictability with this team, will have to wait and see the preparedness if any and their will to win if any!

this team is the 4th best team in the North. the Bengals, Ravens and Browns are all better.

its hard to say, but i think the Ravens and Bengals would put 30 plus up against this team just like the Browns did yesterday.

Cortez Allen might be the worst CB in the league. Troy is too old to really make a difference anymore. Mitchel is a huge step down from Clark at his best and Gay is probably their best CB and that isnt saying much.

look at this teams defense and honestly tell me who is good. Timmons and Heyward are the only 2 guys worth keeping. the rest are all just bodies.

im glad they didnt give Worlds a long term deal. hes been terrible. Spence was forced to be a starter when Shazier went down. JJ wasnt showing anything. you have Troy, Keisel and Harrison all playing when they should be retired. Keisel is still one of their best dlineman, but thats more of a statement on how bad their line is than how great he has been.

this is a last place team. they lost to 0 win Tampa team that has been killed in a few games this season. they struggles and against a 0 win Jaguars team. they barely beat Cleveland at home and they beat a bad Panthers team.

the Steelers are the team that other teams circle on their schedule as a win.

And now we have 3 home games against the Texans Colts and Ravens, no chance of winning one of those games let alone 3...JJ Watt will have a career game against this Oline, Luck will pick this secondary to pieces, and the rats seem to be back on track....

Dallas had a franchise worst defense last season.
Now, new coordinators for O and D.....They're 5-1.
No need to blow everything up.

    Just need different philosophies.

its not always the players. i think DL has to go because he is still coaching like its 10 years ago. he doesnt have the players and the league has a better idea of what he is doing. he is not going to change and as long as he is the coach the defense isnt getting any better.

And to get a different philosophy, you need a different head coach, this present one doesn't have the go nads to fire coordinators, he's afraid to let DL go, and as lousy as Haley is, this dim wad HC just lets him run the same 10 point offense each week, when change is needed you need a new captain of the ship to get the job done.......

Exactly. That is what I meant when I said the game has progressed and we have not. DL was an amazing DC for a really long time but everyone has their time in the sun and his has passed. Our D is predictable and every team that we play exploits our secondary. Hell, I wouldn't run the ball at all against us.
