As a side point - Surely if it’s “very” deflated it actually becomes harder to throw at some point? A little deflation makes grip easier, but “like a marshmallow” is going to affect its flight.

I heard Landry bought some footballs from Tom Brady. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it.:smiley1::cool:

Lmao! This is obviously fake. It’s a preseason game. No one is purposely deflating balls. I’m dying

Apparently it's not fake. Trying to drag the Steelers into the same box as the Patriots to make the Patriots look normal or not the only ones. NFL is such a joke. I told you they were going to use the new hit rule to walk the Patriots to the Super Bowl. This is laying the foundation for when they rig the game against us again.

Wow. What a joke. I'm sure the NFL will suspend Ben for four games even though he didn't play.

Almost undoubtedly. It appeared in the 3rd quarter, with our 4th string QB throwing it.

I know Tomlin has a reputation for ignoring rational choices, but deciding to cheat at that point would sure as hell be an odd instinct to follow.

Doesn’t make sense, especially in a pre season game! The NFL will have to investigate it because of the Brady situation but the circumstances were much different.AFC championship game vs a preseason game by a backup qb.I guess it’s just procedure but how far can you throw a marshmallow?

“All footballs were in compliance with NFL rules following the pregame inspection process and all proper procedures were followed,” NFL Vice President of Football Communications Michael Signora told Mike Garafolo. “In the third quarter, a football that was found to be defective was removed from play and will be sent back to Wilson for review.”

But had he raised the deflated ball in the air during you know what, would he be dubbed a hero across every media outlet in the Country? Maybe it was Goodell's way of trying to steal the predictable headlines away from that other thing.

I was under the impression that the teams are no longer in charge of the footballs and that the league is now in control.

The Eagles announcer making something out of nothing. I am glad the league squashed it quickly.

I wonder if it was the ball Washington caught.

I remember the ball looked weird in the air.

Just goes to show you that once again Bill Bellichek is light years ahead of Tomlin.

Bill deflates balls in the AFCCG, Tomlin in the preseason opener. Learn from the Master, Mike!

A guy wanting to keep his job. Just like Brady did to have an advantage. The moral to the story is grip a ball with less air is much easier to grip . All peeps who have played know that. The only peeps who want and inflated ball is the kicker, punter and the defense.

People saying this is intentional by the players or team are deflating my balls. Its nonsense. Just a defect from Wilson, no biggie.

I played for a bit. Personally I couldn't stand a deflated football, in any aspect of the game. I don't necessarily think it makes it easier to throw. Possibly a small advantage for catching and running.

I really don't get what the big deal is. As for this being preseason, my guess is someone forgot to check the balls to make sure they were all blown up.

Nah, they'll make James Harrison come out of retirement, sign a one day contract and fine and suspend HIM for it!
