The Ravens would be foolish to do that.

    Not surprised.

Lamar has far more on his resume than *insert name* of the Browns and Kyler Murray of the Cards. While some may scoff at this, Lamar is still one of two players in NFL History to win NFL MVP by a unanimous vote. That cannot be counted against him.

What can be is his playing style and how much more punishment he can take. Thankfully Lamar has not taken many severe hits. That said, the injuries are piling up a bit; two of them in the 2021 NFL Season and four total dating back to 2020. Once again.. I shall reiterate.

QBs like Patrick Mahomes can run while QBs like Lamar Jackson run. Sounds difficult at first but the optics are far more simple to grasp once one understands the principles of the position. This is not to say Lamar cannot throw as he would not even be in the league and never mind an MVP. What is fair to question is if 2019 was his Plateau in terms of his overall abilities of throwing the football.

I believe this, among other aspects, are the main hangup for Baltimore. In addition, while the 2023 NFL QB Class looks great on paper, how often has that term translated within the past couple of "great on paper" classes?! 2017 gave us Mahomes, 2018 there was Allen and Lamar himself, 2019 there was Kyler and 2020 another two piece with Herbert and Burrow (Tua also should he perform well). 2021 is still way too early to determine but overall, outside of Mac Jones, the rest have much to prove; all leading to this.

If I am Baltimore, sadly, I will have to give Lamar what he wants and hope for the best. As asinine as this will sound, Lamar is Baltimore's best shot of not just competing in the AFC North but also the AFC as a whole.

Man he has an offer on the table that gives him more than Murray, but wants fully guaranteed?

If they don't give it to him, you think they just franchise tag him? What other team is going to revamp their Offense for him 5 years in as a pro??

It sounds like Baltimore isn't interested in giving him a fully guaranteed deal, I have heard that the other owners were upset that the Browns gave Watson that deal, they know other players are going to want fully guaranteed deals.

Indeed they likely will not. That said, it is fair to question if lightning can strike twice for Baltimore again at QB. While Lamar is not on the same level of passing ability of a Mahomes, Burrow or Herbert, Lamar still gives Baltimore the best chance overall in the AFC. On the subject of Ownership, that was already confirmed months ago shortly after Jimmy Haslam made the deal to get DeShaun Watson. There is a couple more subplots to his suspension; an increase in games from 11 should he not comply with whatever the NFL elects him to do.

All I stated was that is while Tyler Huntley can keep Baltimore competitive in the AFC North, he is definitely not someone Baltimore can rely on to take on the AFC as a whole.... and that is not accounting for losses to players such as Marquise Brown and Sammy Watkins. Add in the amount of uncertainty of their many players returning from injury and this is very much a "Boom or Bust" season for the Ravens. All their chips are pushed to the table more so than others are letting on.

As soon as his legs go, he’s done! He struggled last year and I predict that trend will continue this year. DCs have his number and it’s not 867-5309.

Why stop at $300 million? They should just give him $100 million up front and guarantee him 30% of the salary cap every year thereafter for 10 years. Please do it Baltimore!

Baltimore can franchise tag Lamar twice, he will be almost 30 then, I would let him walk before giving him a fully guaranteed contract.

They could.. but that would bring about disaster for both parties involved there. Last thing any team wants is to piss off their QB; one that is a Franchise one at that.

This is a Browns type move. Fully guaranteed to screw over the team for years to come. QBs like Lamar seem to come and go quickly. Mobility is one thing, but he has been inconsistent.

See stat muse is incorrect about the times He's played....He's only been a starter in 3 games against the Steelers....He played Wr, and other trick plays in 2 others. If everyone remembers....He didn't start at Qb against the Steelers till His 2nd year, and Has only played us once each year since. Also didn't mention all His fumbles lost. I believe 5, or 6 . If memory serves correctly

Today is his deadline for a new contract. Will he get one or will it be next year or later (with the Ravens or another team)?

Lamar has no agent, so it will be interesting to follow, I think he needs an agent!

The franchise tag for a QB next year will be around 47 million. That is a killer..idk what the total guarantee offer was, but a torn acl or fractured leg might make him wish he took the offer.

It's also a cap killer. 47 million tag next year..then I believe an automatic 20 per cent increase the 2nd tag..all guaranteed. That would be nearly 100 million over 2 years...yikes.
