I wouldn't play him on Thursday. They can beat the Jets with RG3. That will give Jackson 10 days to heal before they play the Browns in week 16. If they win these next 2 games then they will clinch #1 seed and we won't see him against us in the last game.

Not to be mean but that is good news to me. I'm worried with him under center the Ravens are going to own the AFC North. That running will catch up to a QB at some point.

I don't want to wish injury on the kid, but that was my thought as well before the season. Had they lost to Buffalo even if the Patriots still lost, this could have been huge! You're almost forced to play him Thursday to keep that seeding. That's just asking to hurt it further.

Also, If you look at his numbers, they're remarkably similar throwing the ball as with Mason and Duck. He's throwing middle of the field though and has a nice set of TE's which I think Duck will get better at as he progresses.

They already own the north this year, whether he's injured or not. It's just whether you want the Ravens or Pats to have the #1 seed. If it's the Pats, there's a very good chance they're going back to the SB. Mediocre team or not, beating them in Foxborough in January is very difficult.

If I were the Ravens, I would tell Lamar he's not allowed to run at all. He's to stand in the pocket and throw. Or I'd start RG3. Even if the Ravens lose this week, they still hold the tie breaker with the Pats. They control their own destiny so a win isn't really needed this week, not at the expense of your QB's long term health

I saw he finally took a big hit last week, believe his head
better be on a swivel, a 260 lb linebacker will end his career
fairly quickly or a 230 lb ss will size him up. Just a matter of time.

I could not believe they still had him in the Jets game with such a huge lead. Pulling him would have saved a potential injury and help RG3 knock some rust off if needed later in the season or playoffs.

The recent talk on radio is how he is changing the position and how teams will now be looking for the next Lamar. The kid is an exceptional talent, but D's will figure him out eventually. If he can continue to improve his passing game, then the run will always be a threat and he may well have a long career.. If he continues to be run dominant, his body will wear down much faster, or injury will take him out permanently.

Your thinking in a traditional way. Peoples have been saying that about this guy for years. People are stuck in the typical NFL way. Look back at some old games and look at the difference today. The game is evolving and it is telling you that if a QB can’t run, he can’t play.

The athleticism of D line and LB's over OL has definitely changed that narrative. So the new wave is Lamar, Watson, Mahomes, Mayfield, Murray, Allen and from a few years ago Wilson. No doubt the success of Wilson, Mahomes, somewhat Watson and now Lamar. Wilson has been able to stay relatively healthy, Mahomes was down this year and Watson have been hit relentlessly. The investment in a young QB is relatively small..even a top 10 pick. The longevity of the QB who runs often has never been very successful. Age and wear will catch up sooner than later, the key is do they have the arm and accuracy to go along with the athleticism, some of these guys do. Question is will the body hold up in the long haul, time will tell.
