It'll be interesting to see how this goes and if it means the Browns will go after Cousins.

Is there still a love fest going on with Cousins? I thought he crashed back down to earth after RG was shut down for the season? I doubt they try and get him, you have a shot at one of the guys coming out in the draft, why give away picks for a guy that is unproven and probably around or even below the talent level coming out?

I have read a couple of rumors that one of the reasons the Cleveland coach was jettisoned is that he doesn't care for Johnny Football and apparently the Browns brass is dead set on him.

Bad move, I agree with Mike Golic, he isn't a first round talent let alone that high.

Don't worry, TTF, they're the Browns, they won't disappoint. They'll do exactly the wrong thing. :lolol:

So many people seemed to think that Lombardi was going to be such a monumental addition there.

    *poof*

I think this is the best thing they could have done (getting rid of Banner & Lombardi. Can't say yet about Farmer though). While I still think that organization has a long way to go to fix their problems I think Banner and Lombardi were two BIG problems standing in the way of any progress that they were to make. I actually think this was the start to getting on the right track tbh.

I agree with Canton, particularly with Banner. He did absolutely nothing with the Eagles. Not sure why he ever got a job with Cleveland.

The league pretty much set Haslam up with him. It just took Jimmy a year to realize he got screwed, lol

    What.
    A.
    Joke.

Poor Clevelanders. Stuck with that abortion of a franchise.

Thats the problem with Cleveland, they are always trying to "just get on track", never seem to get past that point. I don't know anything about Farmer but Lombardi is supposed to be a pretty knowledgeable guy, I wonder if this was a difference of opinion on the draft? Lot of speculation is the Browns will take Manziel, I doubt Lombardi would be on board with that pick, maybe Farmer is more in sync with Haslams thinking.

It's very confusing to say the least. First reports were that HC Chudzinski was fired because Lombardi and Banner were all about Manziel and Chud wasn't. Now speculation is Haslem wasn't as sold on Manziel as Banner and Lombardi and that played a roll in their releases. There's also heavy rumor now that the Ken Whisenhunt interview was the icing on the cake for Banner and Lombardi. Banner has a very abrasive personality and apparently he rubbed too many HC candidates the wrong way, including Whiz, McDaniels, and O'Brien, who all were interviewed and turned down the job. Check out this article on the Whiz's interview: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/02/12/cleveland-browns-jimmy-haslam-fires-joe-banner/

As far as what the locals feel about the firings, they LOVE it! The browns fans ( i live 1 hour south of cleveland so I hear all about it) hated the way Banner carried himself and they absolutely loathed Lombardi. Lombardi was a part of the cleveland organization many years ago when Belichick was their HC and they hated him back then. I didn't know any brownie fan that was happy when they hired him back and they blamed Banner for that. I think it finally sunk in for Haslem and he realized he had to make this call. I can't say whether or not it was the right call but if i were a brownie fan i'd probably be happy with the 'firings". I mean what do they really have to lose? amirite? LOL

All I know is that they will never be good if they don't stop with the constant personnel turnover. Maybe the fans are happy to see those guys go but I'd also be pissed to be starting from scratch, AGAIN! Give somebody a chance for crying out loud. They will continue to be the league joke until they learn to have some stability.
