Steelers signed (T) Kyle Jolly today. That leaves them with 89 on the current roster. Any chance that he makes the 53 as swing T?

Didn't he try to make the team once before, like a few years ago. Thought I remember a Jolly in the Pre-season games.

Yes. I think it was last year, and I think he was on the PS for a while the year before that. He's a likely PS candidate for this year.

He was a member of the Atlanta Falcons last year but the previous (2) seasons he was on our PS. He seems to be improving and he's only 24.

Good luck to him. It's going to be a lot harder getting a roster spot with the line a lot more talented than it used to be.

jolly was brought back twice before then cut and went on to start in the UFL. he started on the top team in the UFL for two years at tackle. they had alot of NFL expierienced coaches there , so maybe those years helped him. he wasen't a bad player, just needed some seasoning. ya never know. he did play college ball in the ACC at north carolina.

at 6'7' 315 pounds he has the size, maybe add a few more pounds and maybe being shipped around quite a bit might of learned more about the position.

Amen to that. And if he can't beat out essex or jonathan scott he doesn't deserve to be in the league let alone be a Steeler. imho.

if jolly could play all 5 positions maybe. essex is a very special player to have on gameday and on the final 53. almost a luxuary. it could allow them to keep an extra player at another position. maybe FB.

There's nothing "special" about a player that can line up at all 5 positions on the OL but suck at all of them. IMO

i'd say it is pretty special, that a guy has been told to learn the LT spot as well as 4 other spots in a new offense. they must have alot of faith in a guy that has to learn all these positions and the line calls as well. they must not think the guys sucks as bad as you do.
