Seems Steeler related, Kirkland will always be a Steeler to me. Pittsburgh west seems logical for him.

There is a very long list of former Steeler players who have coached or are presently coaching in the NFL, not unusual for another one to get a coaching job........

Yes, I believe Larry Foote is now their linebackers coach too.

On a sidenote, the cards also signed former Steeler CB Shaquille Richardson. He played college ball in AZ so there's that connection too.

Interestingly enough, the Cards also have a woman intern as a linebackers coach.

Yea and she is not bad looking either,.. lol.. I think the hireing has to be PR thing than more true hire, JMO. But she is supposed to have 15 years of football exp:confused:

Anything Arizona related is Steeler related. LOL. BA must read this board because I suggested that when Dick left that we might get a female coach and then BA gets an assistant coach that's a female. Just sayin'. LOL.

I'm not saying that's a sexist statement, but I wonder if you have formed opinions about other recent training camp and preseason assistant coach intern hiring decisions around the league.

I'm not sure i kno what your talking about, but yea i would have a opinion on the subject one i knew what the subject was .. lol... .......... IO dont believe i made a sexist statement/comment but u can belive what u want.. If more people said what they truly feel instead of being politaly correct.. this Might be a better place to live,, but most people are the type to go along to get along

I won't presume to know Hugesnack's mind but I think the gist of what he is getting at is that by saying the hiring of a female coach is a PR move you immediately invalidate her as being able to coach the game of football based on her gender even though you did qualify your statement by saying that she is supposed to have 15 years experience. Snack point was did you have any other similar opinions on coaching interns hired by other teams, like saying the Steelers are having Charlie Batch as a coaching intern not because he is any good as a QB or coaching but because he played for the Steelers, or that so and so ex-player has made the leap to coaching with zero experience and must be a PR stunt rather than a serious job/learning opportunity. That would show that you aren't against women coaching but have strong opinions on how one should move up the coaching ladder to gain a shot in the pros. I don't know my two cents anyway.

I dont have no problem with women coaching, i just dont believe its gona go well in the NFL, i just imagine the players are gona make sexual jokes abt her, and not really give her total respect.. .. Jmo.. but i am sure there where alot of more qualified canidates Arizona could have hired... To me this has PR written all over it.. y6o nver even heard of a woman coaching in the pros till BB season was over.. now it seems like Arizona all of sudden wants to join the bandwagon:hmm:

The point was that like the rest of us, you don't pay any attention to assistant training camp coaching intern hiring decisions, until this one, just now. I'm gonna go ahead and guess you don't know any other people that hold that position, across the league. You probably didn't even know there was such a position until now. (I didn't.) Not only do you know little about this particular woman - but you don't even know who else applied, let alone read their resumes and conduct interviews. All you know about her is she's a woman, and you say she's not qualified. Or, rather, not as qualified as "alot of more qualified canidates Arizona could have hired..."

But I love how you say you have no problem with women coaching, you just don't think it will go well because of sexism. This, as you dismiss her qualifications as a PR move because of her vagina. Be the change you wish to see in the world, smart guy.

By the way, it's not "political correctness" to treat genders equally. Not everyone thinks sexism and racism and picking on the handicapped are bad only for PR reasons. Some of us really believe those things are bad, for real. Join the "bandwagon".
