Can't wait until Steelers sign Kirk Cousins in 2018. He has NO interest in signing long term with Washington and would be a PERFECT replacement for Big Ben.

Interesting idea. Just watched a video about him on Yahoo sports and they are talking crazy $$$ numbers and about a bidding war among three teams, none of them Steelers. It`s possible if he wanted to only play for a contender and for less $$$. Seems unlikely, but I see what you are talking about.

It's not like he's unfamiliar with the Steelers organization:

He'd cost way too much, he overvalues himself.

Id rather see what AJ McCarron will cost. Think he is a FA next year. Cincy won't be able to keep both the red rider and AJ.

The bottom line is if Ben retires after this season, we have Landry (not starting material) and one year player Dobbs. Yep, we would be desperate and desperate times call for desperate measures.

Exactly. In addition he seems like too much of a loose cannon...doesn't come across as a leader.

The chiefs traded 3 draft picks to move up to get mahomes, two 1s and a 3, so mahomes isnt going to be trade bait anytime soon, would be too expensive to even think about it....

That's not what I was implying. I thought Mac was saying Chiefs may be in the market for a starter. I thought maybe he forgot about Mahomes.

No worries, I misunderstood Mac, you misunderstood me :lolol:

I think Mac meant Alex Smith may be available for us to sign. God I hope not!

thats why i said he may be moving on. he has two years on his contract but i heard the final year they could get out from under it for about 3.5 mil. in dead money.

i'm saying we won't be the only team looking to replace elderly qb's. eli too for the giants. tough time to need one with all those teams looking. everybody is saying just wait and draft one in the first there will be better qb's next year, well many other teams are in the same boat and drafting before us most likely. cousins may look good by then. smith may be an option for a couple of years if the money were right. all depends on ben holding the team hostage year by year. we certainly won't pick one up with bens big money on the books too.:cool:

aj would be an option. MT liked cousins during his draft though. he's done pretty well in washington with whats around him and would look much better with what we could put around him here.

I'll support any effort to sign AJ (and Brent Musburger agrees)......... upload_2017-5-11_22-50-14.jpeg
