Haley or BA? Isn't the one big difference in their screen games the bubble screen from the bunch formation? I always thought that was the play that would send Steeler Nation in to collective mass suicide mode.

 

I don't hate Haley nor love him but I think he is a good coach. This will be the telling year and I think our offense is going to explode. I hope Haley is here for awhile and think he will be.

 

I know. It's just not ad nauseum and in 3rd and inches situations. But whenever they say "bubble screen" I'm like a 60s hippie having a bad flashback. LOL.

 

Does Strummer hate Haley or just miss BA?

I'll rephrase the question you asked me, Blast. What makes you think Haley is treating his staff unfairly? The fact is we don't know. Maybe Haley wasn't happy with the job Wilson was doing. Maybe he told Wilson that offensive line issues notwithstanding, a 3.5 ypc average out of his running backs was unacceptable. Maybe he though that in 6 years, a YPC average of less than 4 out of his group wasn't cutting it. Maybe he looked Wilson squarely in the eye and told him as much and Wilson didn't take kindly to it. Wilson was big buddies with Tomlin so I'm sure Tomlin didn't say anything to him about his under the line performance in the running game. After all, he was the OC in waiting in Tomlin's mind. I kind of like the fact that Haley is reportedly the kind of coach that will risk offending someone by telling them their performance wasn't cutting it, and in my mind, Wilson's performance wasn't cutting it. Maybe it's as simple as that. Haley told him that his expectations of the running game were higher than he was delivering and he wasn't seeing the kind of development out of some of the RBs that he wanted to see. Maybe Haley refused to fully blame the offensive line for the running game's substandard performance and Wilson didn't like that so he decided to go elsewhere. Maybe.

Exactly, Blount. I don't think the Rooneys or Tomlin will allow anyone to wreak havoc and sow discourse on their football team to the point that no one wants to play or coach here!

Just for the record, it won't be Haley that drives Munchak out of here. It will be members of this board! LOL! THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY I COULD NOT SAY THAT!!!

I say since Colbert is the best in the business and we will win it all next year. he hired haley and got rid of Kirby so, it must be such.

 

Let's wait and see how it works with Munchak. I personally think it's going to be a match made in heaven. I noticed that Wilson said NOTHING about Haley when he gave his farewell speech. He thanked Tomlin and the Rooneys but had nothing to say about TH. I think there could have been some pride at play. Wilson was this close to becoming the OC and had it snatched out of his hands by Haley. I think that maybe he had a hard time taking criticism from Haley.

Again, TTF, this is where we need Paul Harvey. Maybe it will come out in time but I think it's plausible that he was pushed out. I've been a pretty vocal critic of Wilson and just don't think he's done anything special with our RB group. Maybe some folks in management felt the same way.

 

I'm just agreeing with you. if he's so good we have no issues I guess. why worry? kev will fix it. he's da man.
