Kiper has us taking Nix

he is one of a few really. I have seen him linked to us on a few sights. personally I don't know a lot about him other than barrett jones owning him in the championship game last year

 

i'm thorn on haha i still can't evaluate him . is he good or is he only the best safety on a week class ?

Going by the context in the sentence, and the next sentence, I'm pretty sure he meant "torn on." English is freak's second language.

Taking a NT in the 1st would be a good way to minimize the impact of our 1st round pick, while sacrificing other needy areas of the team. Kiper and McShay both have us taking one. I don't hate Kiper like a lot of guys do, but he seems to never know what he's talking about when it comes to us. He often picks guys that I just know we won't take. I hope I'm right on this one.

I would not be happy with the pick of Nix he got dominated by Alabama in the title game. I just think it's too high to draft a NT.

 

Ahh, didn't even read it that way. Thought he was going with what "Thorn" said on him, but didn't see a reply by him....talk about brain farting.

I've been looking at HaHa Clinton-Dix for a bit and he's grown on me a bit. The Bowl game wasn't the best, but most of that can be accounted for by the way different scheme being run against them. The whole secondary just looked confused as to where they were supposed to be.

 

At one point I actually had said that we might have to take a NT first because we were getting so gashed in the run game and some people thought I was crazy. I personally don't WANT to take one now that I've seen the actual numbers with MCLendon on the field and we have some REALLY big needs other than NT. I'm not putting this to gloat. I am just saying that I said that and then changed my mind. I still say that no matter what we will take the best player available.

 

nix on the Nix. had a bad season this year after the sub par game in the NCG last year against high level competition. I hope mclendon and woods get another year. they should show a lot of improvement on some pretty good play from last year. casey hamptons don't come around to often. nix is no casey Hampton. mel, you have a hair out of place.

Same here. I understand on the outside a NT is a need and Nix is the so-called top NT in the draft but NT is not that big of a need and Nix is not top 15.... IMHO

I can't see us drafting a guy in the first round that will only play 15-20 snaps a game.

 

I like Nix, but I don't see us doing this. It would only make sense if we let Ziggy walk, and we felt good about McLendon making an easy transition to DE. In the first round, I'd be pretty shocked if we didn't go with a WR, LB, CB, or S.

 

I like Nix but if we go defensive side of the ball in the first, I hope it's for a playmaking CB.
