boz sucked last year, I got tar and feathered in the offseason for dare touching the Holy Grail. Sorry, I call it like it is.

he makes WAY too much money to suck. he ought to be challenged. He is risky beyond 50 yards on FG's - the best in the league, it is like an ATM, but not with him. He cannot kick it into the EZ - another liability in today's game.

I'd take a hard look at a cheap alternative and a change. he must be defeated, or we he can keep and win his job back. Let's see how his head and leg look in August.....

Boz has had hip/groin injury issues over the last 3 seasons. I don’t know the extent of the injuries or if it’s just one nagging injury.

I don’t put Boz in the needs to be replaced category yet. I do want competition for TC though.

If I have a concern with the kicking game it is only a small one. Kickers get paid to kick through the uprights, kick to a spot, or execute an onside play. Boz has a history of doing those things well. And his ability to kick in Pittsburgh is statistically best in the league. He knows that stadium.

hip and groin injuries are not good for a kicker. espcially with rewarding him with a big salary. he rewarded us with the worst percentage in the league. of course i remember them running gary anderson out of town because he wanted 1 million dollars. he only went on to kick 100% of his FG's for the vikings in the regular season.

I agree. If this is the same injury and it’s been hanging around for 3 seasons, this is probably where the career meets the cliff. If these have been separate injuries I have no concern with them.

Competition in TC is always the best way to measure. His worst percentage in the league was missing 8 FGs. Everything needs context.

8 FG's is quite a lot. especially 5 from the sweet spot of 40-49 yards.

8 FGs is a lot out of 28 total tries. The range is not a concern to me since he gets better beyond that. Could easily be associated with his groin injury and the angle and power he used at that specific range. He has the leg power to make those.
What was his average inside 40? 89%
What was his average beyond 49? 78%
50% from 40-49. I think this is definitely injury related. As I posted previously, if this is the same nagging injury for the past 3 seasons, concerned.

Simplest answer for the kicking game: score TD's in the red zone!!!

And this is where the questions need to be focused. When were these missed kicks as opposed to his groin injury? Was there a specific angle or approach on those kicks that the was affected by the injury. It could have been something as simple as weather, the timing of his coming back from the injury. Based on his previous years and how he came back from injury I think he is going to be fine. I just watched some old vids of Roy Gerela, one year lead the AFC in scoring and was 20 of 29 in FGs, lol. If Boz can get back to 87 to 90 % we are good.

IF and YES / maybe - but if this is chronic, his best days are behind him. all players fade, love the Boz, but dollars and cents rule the day - and performance, of course.

our punter is excellent as well. Our kicking game last year was pretty bad. Yet Percy Harvin is still here. Such a simple decision to make. Cut him and get a new punter. Yet that seems to be beyond this coaching staff. I have no clue why he's still a Steeler

Draft pick? I remember one from the past and then brought him back again only to get rid of him again. Sepulveda. It's not as much average as it is inconsistency.

It's actually worse than you think. That's not his spine, it's his manhood.

Back on subject, do we want to return to the kicker situation we had before Boswell? For a while there we were changing kickers more often than I change my underwear. Every guy we trotted out on the field was worse than the previous.

If Boswell is done, so be it, but let's not call him done before we're sure of it. As long as the 2 groin injuries weren't related (and fans will never know either way) I think we assume he bounces back this year.
