I do not believe any as Hunt is not the GM.

    Per the 2020 Resolution JC-2A

    (i) The employer-club of a minority employee who has been hired by another club as its Head Coach or Primary Football Executive (General Manager) shall receive Draft choice compensation in the form of a compensatory Draft pick in the third round in each of the next two Drafts for an employee hired as either a Head Coach or Primary Football Executive, or for the next three Drafts if it has two employees hired for both positions. The reference to the hiring of employees into “both positions” could be by the same club or different clubs. The following will apply to the Draft choice compensation:

    a. Any compensatory Draft picks awarded pursuant to this Policy will be at the end of the third round following all compensatory Draft picks awarded to clubs pursuant to Appendix V of the NFL-NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    b. If multiple clubs are awarded compensatory Draft picks pursuant to this Policy, then the order of those picks at the end of the third round will follow the original selection order for that Draft established prior to any trades or other adjustments.

There are those of us that believe Tomlin is essentially the GM now, at least when it comes to final say on acquiring talent.

He of course can’t handle all GM duties AND be HC so you still need people like Khan to handle that stuff.

As for my comment about “he’s not his boss”, Tomlin was involved with the interview process, who interviews their future boss?

What if Hunt gets a higher level position with the Eagles, than what he had with the Steelers?

    A cut and paste:

When it comes to Brandon hunt, his role in the Philadelphia Eagles front office has been reported as being in the scounting department and is obviously not as general manager or an equivalent title. This, along with the typical method in which the picks are awarded, is the reason the Pittsburgh Steelers will not receive any compensatory draft picks for 2023.

I don’t think that dispels it one way or the other. Continuity with some change.

I look at two things, an extensive months long search only to come back to an in-house hire. Why? Surely they met with more qualified. To me that signals they wanted to implement a process the candidates did not approve of. That is either equal footing with Tomlin or Tomlin having final say on the talent added to the team. Tomlin has been here nearly 20 years, I think Rooney is fully ok with Tomlin deciding the players he wants to coach.

The other thing as I have pointed out previously, Tomlin was involved with interviewing the candidates. I’ve never interviewed my boss to be, have you?

I don’t buy it. He’s been here forever, he think he’s been handed the keys.

That is to say, a partnership as it was under Colbert and all around collaborative effort with one small caveat, Tomlin makes the final call on talent.

Khan said the Steelers' business model of using the draft as the primary method of roster building is not going to change, and he also hinted at a continuation of the franchise's collaborative approach when he referred to decisions about contracts and extensions being "Steelers decisions." He also said definitively that the long-standing principles of not negotiating contracts during the season and waiting until the final year of a player's existing contract before working on an extension "will stay in place."

I know, I agree the dynamic is more or less going to remain intact. I just believe the dynamic has tilted in Tomlins favor.

How many coaches have Tomlin Tenure. He wouldn’t be the first coach to call the shots on the players the team acquires. I don’t believe for a second he will be saddled with players he doesn’t want.

It’s not important we agree on the power structure of the team, Jeh :drinks:

What was his involvement in the interview process? It wouldn't be unheard of to have Tomlin in the interviews to provide a framework of what the are doing and working towards as well as answer questions the candidates have about how he approaches things. That type of involvement wouldn't be considered directly interviewing the guy you would be working with or under.

That is good ****!!!! Actually never heard of it until about 7-8 years ago. In Mexico among the locals (no resort) and they were having a street fair. Damn good and it was on a hard roll which I like.

I think it was about 150 peso's which was about 7 bucks.
