I think the offensive line is the key to this one. They need to play their best game of the young season and get redemption from last year. And Vick better know his hot reads like the back of his hand.

With a "mice" game I thought you were suggesting we play #13 throughout the game. Whew. Glad that wasn't the case.

I posted this in the "How long will AB's streak continue?" thread:

"............and (God forbid) the injury thing could be either with AB or BB - never know the connection with a backup QB."

Sorry - blame me for all this mess. Also please note in light of this I'm heading over to Vegas tonight - just a few hours drive.

I think a big key to beating the Rats will be to score a touchdown in the first quarter. Go out, move the ball down the field, and put 7, not 6, not 8, but 7 points on the board in the first quarter. That will send a message that this is going to be a game and that were not one dimensional. A scoring offense helps the defense.

The key is to score more points than the Ravens.

I am thinking the gameplan for Thursday's game could look like one from 1973. Run and run some more with Bell and Williams. The Ravens will definitely bring it but no Ngata, no Suggs. A defense in transition that is a lot like ours. Penalties and turnovers will be huge.

See this is the problem with Tomlin, he comes up with the same game plan every week.

We will be able to put up at least 10 points... Its up to the D to pitch a shut out.

really hope we don't go too much to that backwards screen play. Ravens will be ready for that. do it too much and it's either going to be picked off or not caught and being a fumble since it's normally a backwards pass.

didn't Suggs pick one of those screen passes off a year or 2 ago?

special teams needs to be ready for trick plays. harbaugh likes the fake punt....even deep in his own territory

I say get Miller involved and get him involved early.

too many empty back sets are going to get Vick on his back. We had too many of those Sunday and the Rams were in the backfield all day. may need to use Spaeth for some blocking.

I happen to think we will win this game, we have 21 other starters besides vick who will step it up a notch because their leader is sidelined, besides there isnt enough time to game plan for these thursday night games, but we know the rats so that shouldnt be a problem, meanwhile hairball has to scramble to prepare for vick instead of ben, and we do have more play makers than he does, so I think we will win this game....

Better hope Vick shows better than he did Sunday or it wont mater if they have all 21 starters on the field. And when I said game plan, I didn't mean game planning for Baltimore, I mean Haley coming up for a game plan for Vick, because he sure isn't running the same offense that Ben used.

He could run the same game plan ben had if they started jones instead of vick, in fact I would have a short leash on vick in this game and wouldnt hesitate to jerk him, LJ is better prepared to run this offense than vick is in my opinion....

Better prepared? LOLandry does not have Vick's talent nor his quick decision making. Yes there is a reason why Vick is no longer a starting QB. There is also a reason why LJ is behind him on the depth chart.

I agree completely. Come up with a game plan that shocks the Ravens and catch them off guard. The key however is going to be the defense. We've been saying for a while now that we would need to score 30+ to beat teams, well that is not going to happen with Vick at QB. We all saw what Brady did to our D. While we played better these last 2 weeks, it was against Nick Foles and Colin Kaepernick (67 yards passing last week!) Much better QB's are ahead. We are going to need sacks, forced fumbles, interceptions, good tackling and maybe DTD or two to win these next few weeks.

I agree, except I'd do the opposite. They drafted Jones for that reason, he fits Haleys system. We already know Vick isnt a good QB and sure as heck doesn't fit Haleys system and just hoping his veteran experience can lead to a couple wins, Id rather see what Jones can do, if he falls on his face, you could turn to Vick then.

Just an FYI, Jones had a 98.6 passer rating in his last preseason start I believe. Thats playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers, no one has ever seen what he could do with starters.

i agree, but vick is MT's boy and that ain't gonna happen. i also don't agree with changing the offense to fit vick, it's easier to make a gameplan for one then it is change 10 other guys to fit vick.

I agree that I'd rather have Jones back there, but we'll see Vick.

I think the Raven's offense can be kept in check. Steve Smith has looked to have lost a step. Flacco is not on form. Admittedly, if they're going to step up it will be against us. But we just need to keep our noses ahead on offense.

Nope. Just give the guy a chance because this is the best opportunity to see how he could really do. Alternative is no worse.
