Will be having his ring ceremony at Heinz Field. He asked the Rooneys right away if he could. He went on to say once a steeler always a steeler. That's pretty cool considering he only spent 3 years here. The Rams reached out to him but he told them thanks but no I already have my plans in place.

Any idea when? My wife loves watching these things. Always have to be in our seats 20 minutes before kickoff to get the introductions.

In 1989 he had 16 1/2 sacks and was paid $225,000.

Just one more example of the great culture created by the owners, front office and coaches past and present.

And teams were valued at about 250 million then, today the average team value is 2 billion dollars, as teams market values and revenues escalated so did player salaries....

Miller was the Super Bowl MVP, they don't even get to the Super Bowl without Miller playing great in the AFCCG.

Miller happened to have 2 career games at the perfect time contract wise. He is a great defender but that contract is more than I would have paid for him. Hell Gilbert shut him out in 2 meetings this year.

The worst part about that contract is, like Luck, he would have ushered in a new age of payment by tier one defensive players league wide..... and did not.

Luck's to me is still a major disappointment.

Imagine what that would be inflated + his performance at the time.

In 1977 jack lambert held out of training camp over a contract dispute, in September he signed a 5 year contract for 1.2 million making him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL at the time:

    New York Times
Jack Lambert has signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers that makes him “the highest paid defensive player in the game.” The all‐pro middle linebacker ended his holdout by agreeing to a pact reportedly worth $1.2 million over a five‐year period.

Greene and Lloyd were quite the package on the outside. We had a Defensive tackle that moved fast for a middle linebacker in Kirkland, Earl Holmes was good too. Joel Steed and Buckner up front. Rod Woodson and Carnell Lake. That was a sweet defense, only problem was was the dang QB position on offense.

He's a great player, to be sure. Consistent enough week-in, week-out for that kind of contract? Maybe not a deal I'd go for.

Yeah Haynesworth is a loser of the highest degree. I've had a lot of people down here tell me that they've seen him out at bars and stuff like that and that people will avoid him like the plague. He's also the idiot that stepped on a dude's head as well. He really should have been prosecuted for that crap.

But it was a dallas player he stepped on, so I give him a pass on that one, dallas plays dirty so karma comes back around once in a while....I dont condone dirty play at all, I just hate dallas, Haynesworth was suspended 5 games for that kick, that was a big time fine losing 5 paychecks...

Been loving the coverage coming out of Canton this week and the stuff on Kevin Greene. Greene's signing kinda went hand in hand with when I really got into football. Cohwer was hired in 92 and then we had Lloyd, Greene, Kirkland and Brown along with Woodson, Lake and Perry. Just that defensive identity when Kevin played. I love that he feels that his time in Pittsburgh however brief really put him on the map. Going to be sweet seeing him go into the HOF.
