I wasn't going to buy anymore jerseys this year but I think I will place a custom order for a couple of 91's Greene and Smith.

Yes, they were great years. He often said they were the best years in his career. He said that is when football got to be real fun!

    RIP Kevin Greene

He is one of the main reasons I became a Steeler fan. His passion and intensity was impossible to ignore. Just an absolutely infectious person who I loved to root for.

I remember being in a legitimate funk for a couple of weeks when they didn’t resign him in 1996. Just rewatched his “Football Life” episode. This one hurts.

One of my all time favorite Steeler LB's such a ferocious tackler , super high energy guy and a huge character guy.

Greene and Lloyd were the best pair in the NFL for three years, A real pleasure to watch them tear up offenses.

58 is way too young he deserved better.

I will remember him as both a player and a good man his HOF speech was moving.

I thought he was still coaching.

Curious to see what the cause of death was, as I had not read anything about him being sick.

Sad, sad day in Steelerland. KG could get after it. Even though he played for other teams
he always associated his time with Steelers. Way too young, I didn't here what he died from, has anybody?

On radio Boomer Esiason said that Greene was working out with his son and had a heart attack soon afterwards.

Kevin Greene to me always looked liked the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz, with his long flowing locks of blonde hair.

But he had more heart than almost any football player I watched and he gave 110% of every single snap, so he wasn't much like the cowardly lion.

I think Bill Cowher said it best, on every single Sunday, you knew what you where getting out of Kevin Greene.

Only wish he would of gotten a 2nd contract and stayed a few years longer than he did in the Black and Gold.
