The team sold the narrative that he bailed on them because he didn't want to compete when the truth is they told him he wasn't going to get to compete for the job. Quite a few suckers bought into that narrative, allowing the team to make him a scapegoat. He needed to be better, but the team did a terrible job with him. They put him behind a weak offensive line with a terrible offensive coordinator and an immature pair of idiots at receiver, then they told him to not dare throw an interception. They took away his aggressiveness. You can't develop a young quarterback like that, at least not if you want him to be successful.

No doubt, but Tomlin played a big role in his struggles. He saddled him with a terrible offensive coordinator and told him to avoid risks until the final moments of the game. They also had a weak offensive line, especially at center. Those were poor choices by Tomlin and Colbert/Khan that put Pickett in a terrible position.

Like I said, the Steelers did a good job selling a story and quite a few folks here were suckered into believing it.

I think it's really cool that they let you listen in on their conversations like that. What are they currently saying to Fields/Fields' agent? That's the story we should be interested in as well.

There's a lot of area to cover
Too many rows to be cultivated in his progress
Needs to plant his feet and plow through the crop of defenses seeded in front of him.

The story of Pickett's reaction could only have come from the team or Pickett and his representatives. Which do you think would tell a story that made Pickett look bad? Apply some logic or stick your head in the sand. Your choice.

I do not doubt the OL Kenny had to play behind was less than the current version. But not by any measurable amount. Arthur Smith is night and day better than Canada. That doesn't explain missing throws to wide open receivers. There is truth all over the place. Including that the player asked to be traded, or else he would have been on our roster last season.

And small sample size or not, he hasn't looked any better with the Eagles.

    I agree.
My post was towards the talks with Fields/Fields agent. I'm not in the room like others so I made my own subject matter n Fields
The Steelers will reap what they sow.

I watched the Eagles play us and in the SB. That's the extent of my experience on that. I guess I did see parts of the playoff games. Other than KP finishing the SB, I don't think I saw him play this season.

He may develop into a very good QB. Maybe even a franchise guy. I could get excited about that or even care a little had he not asked to be traded. Has he remained in Pittsburgh, even as a backup, I would find interest in watching him develop.

KP was not part of the team last season. He will not be part of the team going forward. I'm more interested in Skylar Thompson at this point. The fact that KP is getting as much time on this form as he still gets is weird. Mason Rudolph was the better QB during KP's time here. Just weird.

Between this forum and socials, it was hard for me not to see his shortcomings as an Eagles player. The McKee kid came in and immediately looked more competent for them.

But 100% agree with not caring about whether he succeeds or not at this point. Moving on.

McKee came into a game after the Eagles built a 24-7 lead with Pickett. He threw two touchdown passes in garbage time and that impressed you. lol

And had his first multi-passing TD game in 4 passes vs the 1 in 30 games that KFP has had. LOL

Also, I said looked more competent, not that I was impressed. :hmm:

Very close. Eastern Orthodox. A distinction that is very nearly looking for a difference.
